Happy Birthday to you...

Do you like this card? I thought it was pretty fun. It is a good use of stamping markers, paper and rub ons. I like the inked the edges of the paper to tie everything together. Happy Birthday Bree!

Dyeing your old wedding shoes

OK- I know this isn't stamp or scrapbook related, but it is crafty! Did you know you can dye those satin type shoes at home with coffee!?!? No joke. I have my wedding shoes from two years ago, gorgeous, white, but I have only worn them once. Now I am in a wedding and I don't want to spend $$ on a pair of ivory shoes I will wear once. So I dyed them with coffee!

How does it work- easy.
  1. Brew some strong coffee
  2. Apply coffee to shoe with a sponge
  3. let dry
  4. repeat steps 1-3 for darker shades

I only did one layer and got ivory shoes. But YOU can do varying shades of brown if you want.

:) I LOVE being resourceful!

Box in a bag

Recently my Scrappin' Club met for the first time. Since it was our first meeting we didn't have our orders/products to make scrapbook pages. Instead we made this fun project called Box in a Bag.

This project is so easy. Supplies needed are:

SU Designer Series Paper- 5 1/2 X 11
Matching Cardstock- 4 1/2 X 4 1/2, 1 1/2 X 11, 2 pieces 3 X 1 1/2
Coordinating SU ribbon
Scallop Edge punch- or other punch to make scallop edge
1/2 " circle or horizontal slot punch
Embleshments (I used die cut flowers, pretties kit flowers dyed with ink and brads)
Glue

Hope you have fun making this! If you need help feel free to let me know.

Card Swap

All Roads Lead Home

This is a fun photo frame I made for my friend Krista who recently bought her first house- yeah! Congrats Krista! I was inspired when I saw this big mat frame at my favorite scrapbook store (Urban Scrapbookers). If you know Krista at all you know that she LOVES maps and LOVES the color red. With that in mind- I wanted to make something with a map and found this route sign shaped map. The map is also great for her because she travels a lot for work and pleasure and because I met her in College in Olympia but she lives in MN- a long trip. I added a car and the words "all roads lead...", then I glittered the word home. The arrows point to a star on the map- the destination- her home. The red backdrop has some trucks stamped on it in versamark (which you can't see here). Finally, I added a few eyelets up high just for a bit more of a industrial look. I hope she likes it, just mailed it last week to congratulate her on the new home!

Love you Krista!
