Holiday Place Settings

Each place setting includes a napkin ring, nameplate, favor, and confetti - all based on the same template. Just for Studio 5 viewers, Stampin' Up CEO Shelli Gardner shares the design tricks that give that template three terrific twists. Here is a sample of what the video has to offer!

Shaker Card Tutorial

This is my first attempt at a tutorial so hopefully it is informative for you.
A shaker card is a card that contains an element such as snow or sand with and image behind it and can be shaken.
Lets get started!

Step 1: measure and cut cardstock to desired size. Be aware, depending on what shape your window is and how you plan to cut it (punch or paper cutter, etc.) you may need to tailor your card size depending. I cut my card to work with my 1 3/8" punch (cardtock cut to 5 3/4" X 4 7/8")

Step 2: Cut patterned paper the same size as card front.

Step 3: Cut window how and where you want it- again I used the 1 3/8" circle punch in the middle of the card.

Step 4: Create the image you want so that it is aligned with your window. You may want to use a stamp-a-majig or other tool to be sure it is lined up properly.

Step 5: Using acetate (transparency sheets), cut a "window" that is big enough to thouroughly overlap the inside of your cover page. Mine was 2" X 2".

Step 6: Using Snail or Mono, adhere acetate window to the back/wrong side of your patterned paper.

Step 7: Use mounting tape (can find at craft or home improvement stores- home depot) to create a frame around the image. This will keep the "snow" inside the card.

Be sure to give enough bearth so that your frame doesn't show through the window.

Also put a small square in each corner so card is level.

Step 8: Pour "snow" into frame. I used a combination of Stampin' Glitter and Glassy Glaze Enamel (one for sparkle and the other for the weight and shaker sound).

Step 9: Peel back tape frame and carefully align the cover page with the acetate on the inside. Press firmly to ensure your "snow" doesn't escape.

Step 10: Embelish as desired!

I hope you had fun, please let me know if you have any comments or questions!

Happy Halloween

Here is a fun treat bag I made for Halloween. I made it using my season of frienship tree and the rest was using punches- 1 3/8" circle for the moon (edged with black ink), same circle for pumpkin (trimed in bottom and top), scallop edge on clouds and pumpkin grimace and tendrils, scraps for pumpkin stem, eyes. Finally I had some black checkered grossgrain ribbon. I filled this with a few candy's and gave it away at my world card making day event. Ana's son Samuel won it (he is 2 and a half) and he was super excited and ate it all before he left! :) Sorry for the sugar high...

Cards from WCMD

We basically made a card for every season and every occassion at world card making day. I gave you a preview of my summer wishes card. Here is my fall frienship card:

A card for the Christmas season or Winter:

And finally, a card for Spring (which seems sooooo far away right now!!!):
My guests seemed to enjoy themselves. :)

Favors and Flowers

Oh, here are the wedding favors I helped my friend Bree make for her wedding. Her colors were fall and the treat was chocolate covered espresso beans (very Seattle). They were fun to make and fun to have at the wedding. Oh, and here was my bridesmaid boquet- isn't it beautiful?!?!
