For my Little Bunny Rabbit!
Those of you who have kids, or even dogs, do you have "pet names" for them? I have lots of lovey little names for my baby girl Sophie, among them are Soap Suds (obvious...I think), Bean Bag (takes too long to explain...) and the standard Sweet Pea as well as lots of others. A friend of mine always calls her my Little Bunny Rabbit. :) I think that is so cute! And very appropriate for this spring post, don't you think!
This is an Easter card with a bunny that I made for My Bunny. We are really looking forward to Easter this year as we'll be spending it with Grandma for the first time. Can't wait to make cookies, die and search for eggs and everything else with my Mom! We'll be in a vacation rental in La Conner and maybe if we are lucky the tulips will be in bloom, but if not, I know the Daffodils are out!!! If you haven't seen La Conner's tulips and you live in the Pacific NW, you have to check it out! Beautiful! Here is a little taste for you, enjoy!
I had so much fun using this Happy Easter Lawn Fawn set, and the Pink Lemonade DP and Lemon lawn trimmings, all of which I won as blog candy!!! :) I just love that little bunny, the chick and the eggs and jelly beans. I went so far as to make my own little basket, which I am pretty proud of. I did this by brushing Kraft CS with a Chocolate Chip ink and weaving and gluing the little strips of paper together. Then I embossed it with my SU! that actually looks like wicker. The handle is made from the same hop lines that I used under the bunny, I just did it in brown to match. The little extras are the little cloud and the button sun with the lawn trimmings as well as the banner with the salutation which also has Lemon lawn trimmings and some faux stitching. Finally, you can see the faux stitching at the bottom as well.
As always, while I am at making cards, I love to enter them in challenges. So this one will go into the Lawnscaping Challenge which is all about stitching as well as the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog which is all about spring/Easter and finally the Ribbon Carousel Challenge #78- Spring is in the air!
So what "pet" or lovey names do you call your kiddo or pet and why? Also, what fun plans do you have ffor Easter or spring? I hope you enjoy the coming weeks!

That's DOG-gone good!
It's another dog day here. Having more fun with my Paper Smooches Woofers & Tweeters stamp set. :) The design of this card was based around the fire hydrants. I had fun coloring them and making them these colors, topped it off with a brad for the front-facing bolt on the hydrant. The brads had the perfect look for the painted, dull metal hydrants have. Of course these colors are typical for hydrants but it is DOG-gone good that they match the current Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge don't you think?! AND...I love that puppy with those big watery eyes, he is the epitome of that saying, "don't give me those puppy dog eyes!" I made this card for a girlfriend of mine who loves doggies, what a perfect birthday card for her. You can see that pooches dream about fire hydrants, but what is she wishing for? I'll have to ask her! Happy Birthday C!

Mr. Merle the Dauschund
They say you are either a dog person or a cat person. If I had to choose, I'd go with cats, mainly because they are more self sufficient...which leave me more time for stamping!! Dogs are cute too though, I have ot admit. I a I had a good friend in my college years who had a dog and a cat, but she was really a dog person. She had the funniest Dauschund named Merle. They were both very eccentric and quite the pair! I can't say I particularly like a dauschund's over other dogs, but I'll tell you what, they are ADORABLE as puppies! I mean look at this face!!!!!!!!! So very darling and sweet! Which brings me to today's card....
This card has a blend of stamps from two of my most favorite stamp companies. Now stop me if I have told you this before...but I LOVE Paper Smooches and Lawn Fawn Stamps!!! Sooo... as you can see this card features a dauschund from the Woofers & Tweeters set (PS) as well as some bones, which I place in an hole in the ground made from an oval punch (super easy!) and fun sentiment "I dig you!" The word bubble is from the LF set A Little Birdie Told Me. I incorporated colors from the current Challenge over at the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog and some faux stitching for the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog.
So what do you think? I hope you like and leave me some loving comments, they always make me so happy! :) I'll leave you with this fun song, Dixie the Tiny Dog. I first heard a version of it sung by Mason Jennings, it was extremely hard to find but I found this video of a cute dog with it playing in the background. Enjoy!

Baby's First Birthday
This weekend I got to witness the sweetest thing, it was a baby's first birthday. Little Ella is such a sweet and beautiful girl. She has the biggest brown eyes ever and you just sink into them. I wanted to make her a special birthday card for that special occassion. I had prevously created the merry-go-round for another project, but didn't end up using it and that inspired me to make this new card. All the elements (minus the tiny heart) came from Lawn Fawn's Admit One set. I used the same colors I had used in the merry-go-round and placed them randomly on the embossed background. I added a little ribbon and some bling, and wah-lah! Done. I had fun making this little card for that little girl. Althought it wasn't my original intention, I am going to submit it for this weeks Lawnscaping Challenge, which is using texture.
While I am talking about babies I want to say congrats to Laurel who is a designer on Lawnscaping Challenges. She just had a baby girl herslef. It was touch and go for a while, but all is well now and Laurel and sweet Lily are home with their family. Congrats Laurel and family!
Happy First Birthday Ella!
