CMCC #77- Going Tribal

Hello.  Today is a little bitter sweet for me as it is my last challenge with the fabulous Colour Me team!  I have enjoyed the ladies, challenges and creations immensely!  I hope to have another round with this DT some day in the future.    With that, onto my last challenge.

This is the poppin' and playful color combo we are using this week:

So I had a ton of fun with this color combo.  Again, my BasicGrey Grand Bazaar paper pack came in handy by having the exact colors I needed, including the Melon Mambo, Plum, and Tangerine.  Wahoo!

Here is where the fun came in.  I used my MFT feather dies and Avery Elle chevron die to take these feathers to the next level.  I cut the bits of DP with the chevrons and diamonds and fit then right into the feathers for a fun and fancy pattern.  It feels very tribal to me, but with a modern flair.  I added extra bits from the Grand Bazaar collection as accents including the saying, "Life is what you make of it."  I added some melon colored twine from the Twinery and some bling from Freckled Fawn.  Honestly, it is a little out of my comfort zone, but is fun none the less.  Just another opportunity to stretch myself a bit and have fun.  So, I lived up to the sentiment I guess. :)

So with that, I implore you to live your life to the fullest, which will include visiting the Colour Me blog, all the DT members and then joining us for this challenge.

Thanks for stopping and thank you again to the Colour Me team for such a great six months!

Sunday Stamps 104- For the dads

Hi friends!  Happy Sunday and Happy Father's Day to all those great dads out there!

This week over at Sunday Stamps we have a fun sketch for you, lookie see!

I decided to dedicate this one to my daddy. :)  He loves photography and loves the outdoors, so this little combo is just perfect for him.  The perfect little Simple Stories journal card with the cameras and hearts on the Crumb Cake paper from SU!  I used several Lawn Fawn sets and dies (Gnome Sweet Gnome, Say Cheese and the matching polaroid die, and the flower from Happy Easter).  I colored it with my Copics and used some blue twine from the Twinery and blue enamel dots from MME to pull out th blue in the journal card.

Lucky me my Dad is in town this weekend.  Much of my family comes every year for Father's Day weekend because we have fun art festival.  My brother and I got him a couple things from the fair that we know he will love.  I think this is the perfect little card for my dad to compliment those gifts nd a great way to say I love you.  I hope he likes it!

Now, I hope you will come play this week's challenge with us.  Please head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to check out the inspiration from the DT and join us for the challenge.  This challenge runs for three weeks due to the July 4th holiday.

Cheers to you!

Fusion- Bright Butterfly

Happy Fusion Day!  I hope you'll join us this week for our challenge.

What a lovely picture eh?!

Here is my card for the week.  I had a ton of fun with this one and really enjoyed using the bright colors.  I finally broke out my boquet die from SU! and had a ton of fun using tissue paper for the flowers.  I have done quite a few projects with tissue paper, it is one of my fave things to work with. I have done a few different tutorials with it that you can see on my tutorials page.  In this instance, I just love how the tissue looks soft and natural like real flower petals.  The butterfly is a Pebbles die, the gem in the flowers are SU!  and the pearls are from Simon Says Stamps.  My favorite bit here is this brand new sentiment I picked up from my local store made by Hero Arts.  It really says it all.  :)

Thanks for stopping today.  Please head on over to the main blog to check out all the DT fabulousness and join us for the challenge.

Colour Me #76- When I see an Elephant Fly

Howdy!  Here we are with another Colour Me Challenge.

This week we are working with a subtle color combination.

Isn't that a gorgeous image?!  Wow!

Here is what I made this week, a versatile card for a sweet celebration.  Either for a baby shower or a birthday, or something else, you decide.  :)

The elephant together with the bubbles on this card remind me a bit of the movie Dumbo. :)  I had to google the song, "when I see and elephant fly" just for fun.  You can see it here if you want. Enjoy!

For this card I used my newest Avery Elle set designed by Heather Cambell.  It is so darn cute!  I loved stamping it in the Lawn Fawn circle and coloring with my copics.  The SU! designer papers had the perfect colors and I used Blackberry Bliss as my backdrop.  I used some sparkly ribbon for a bit of shimmer and flair.

Please head on over to the main blog and leave some love for the other DT members.  Then you can visit them each in turn.

Colour Me #75

Colour Me is here with a striking color combo this week.

What is your go to for blue and red?  Patriotic, nautical... maybe even floral?  That is what I used last time, you can see that card here.  I went nautical this round.

Loving this Digi from Hambo Stamps.  A beauty that you can print in different sizes.  I colored with my Copics, obviously leaving the grans or sand bare.  I used my Martha Stewart corner punch to create the fun red bits on the edges that I love.  The cardstock is SU! and the sentiment is Impress, you can see it says, "you are my" and it says "Anchor" on the inside.  Lastly I added these shiny gold stars from Teresa Collins.

So, won't you join us this week?  It will be just in time for Memorial Day or any other occasion you wish!

Here is the DT line up:

Sunday Stamps #103- Just Dreaming

Hi Friends!  Have you been having a good weekend?!  It is nice here and I am loving it.  I am dreaming about more summer fun (and more time off!)!

Speaking of dreaming!  This weeks Sunday Stamps inspiration photos is very dreamy!  Lookie see!

If I could encapsulate this in a bottle and keep it fresh forever I would love it.  Dandelions are the epitome of childhood. Sigh, I feel happy.

I also feel happy with my creation.  I wasn't sure when I was making it but it turned out.   I stared with a kraft base and used my Tim Holtz stencil with some died embossing paste.  I colored it using my firecracker spritzers.  On a seperate piece of paper, I stamped this Penny Black image in brown from SU! and used clear embossing powder.  I cut it out and mounted it on the base using dimesionals.  Next I took my Pretty Pink Posh Sequins and used them as my dandelion tuft.  The tag is stamped with a sentiment from The Cats Pajamas and SU! Pool Party and I tied it onto the lacy ribbon.  Last but not least I inked up the edges of my card with the same brown as before (SU! Chocolate Chip).

Now you can head over to the Sunday Stamps Blog and see all the fab creations the DT came up with.  I will be hear, just day dreaming about wonderful things. :)

Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop- Third time is a charm!!

Third time is a charm!  Here is my last and final card for today for the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop.  As you can see, Stampers Anonymous features in this card too.  I LOVE this set and simply can't get enough of it.  I stamped the cup on Crumb Cake from SU!  I then stamped it again on some DP from the Neopolitan Collection.  I colored in the steam and stamped some extra beans from the set to add to the bottom of the paper.  I curled my one edge for a little shabby look and added the enamel sentiment embelishment from Freckled Fawn.  I made this card specifically for our fabulous hostess Amy Tsuruta, because this is just her style!  Thanks Amy for putting on this fabulous hop! :)

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop- Take 2

I am back with another creation for you for the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop.

Here is my second creation for the hop.  I used my Crumb Cake Paper from SU!  Again, I can't remember who the DP is made by, I've had it for quite some time and it is perfect for a coffee card.  The stamp is from the same Stampers Anonymous set, I enjoyed coloring with my Copics to look like a Starbucks cup. The sentiment is from PTI and perfect for this card.

Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop- Take 1

HOWDY!  Are you caffeinated, jazzed up and ready to hop around on this fun Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop?!  I sure am!

I've made several cards for this hop and will share them all with you today.

I don't mean to boast, but I love this card.  This Stampers Anonymous set is so super fun!  I love every bit of it!  I stamped this set on the DP (I can't remember who makes it- frown face), then I stamped it again on the white paper and colored it in, the cup, the top of the straw and the white inside and used dimensionals to mount it.  I used crystal effects on the top of the lid to make it look like plastic and sprinkled my some....well sprinkles... from PTI's Make it to Market shaker kit from last summer.  It dried in the glossy accents and looks like yummy candy topping!  The sentiment is from a Mama Elephant Set and the Freckled Fawn wood chips.

Fusion- Blue Skies and Smooth Sailing

Happy Thursday friends.

Welcome to this week's Fusion Challenge.  We have a lot of fun in store for you and the DT is serving up a smattering of fabulous inspiration.  Be sure to head over to Fusion when you are done here to check out the main blog and all the inspiration.

This week I chose to go with the sketch.  I initially tried to use the inspiration photo but it didn't turn out, so I went for the sketch instead.  I am hoping this will make a great birthday card for a guy or a winter birthday.

This week I finally broke in this fun Lawn Fawn set, Critters in the Arctic, that I got after the winter holidays.  I had fun coloring in the walrus and ice block with my Copics.  I even made little whiskers and pink cheeks on  the walrus at my daughters request. :)  I had fun putting a party hat on this guy from Hats off to you.  The journal card with #cool, I thought was rather clever, was a Simple Stories card.  The papers are from Fancy Pants.  The little fun sparkly snowballs are from Impress.  I enjoyed making this little guy and hope you enjoyed this post.

Don't forget to head over to the Fusion blog to join in the fun!

Colour Me #74- Wedded Bliss

Wedded Bliss.

That is what this summer is going to be full of. Beautiful brides and lucky grooms at all 4 of the weddings I am attending this summer.  I do hope that each of them feels like royalty on their special day.  I know I felt quite special and am still lucky to have a wonderful hubby!

Lucky for me Colour Me is playing with white on white this week, which is an easy go to wedding card combination.  Here is the inspiration:

Here is my creation.  I do hope one of those brides will feel happy to get it.  :)

I mounted white, one white, on white, on white.... you get the idea. ;)  The embossing folder, which I just love, is from SU!  I picked in particular for one bride I know who is crazy about chevrons in all forms.  As is the white paper and the butterflies and ribbon.  I used a combo of glossy and matte paper, (the butterflies are glossy) to pick up some subtle differences in the white.  The tag die is from the wonderful top dog dies.  I stamped this perfect PTI sentiment in versamark and embossed silver for one more layer of shine.  I added the ribbon and florals for embelishment, perfect for a bride to be.

I am super happy with how no color can be so dramatic and carry so much life.   Do you agree?  Will you join us for this challenge then?  Please do and head over to Colour Me to link up and check out the DT creations.  You can also go to the DT blogs direct and leave them some love.
