Fusion- Something Blue

Hello on this early Thursday morning.  Is everyone excited about this week's Fusion Challenge?  I sure am!  Here is the inspiration photo.

Here is my take on the challenge:

I took my own spin on the challenge.  I used these lovely flowers that remind me of the Grape Hyacinth that always grew in our yard growing up.  They were an early spring flower that sorta popped up willy-nilly in the flower beds.  I loved the different shape and color.  Now that I think about it was probably by design by my father, but it seemed so mysterious at the time.  Here is what they look like.
So for my card I used this image which came from the SU! Occasions Catalog.  I  Stamped them and colored them with my Copics.  YOu can't see it here, but I then roughly tore them out, close to the blooms for a bit of a shabby look and popped them out. I stamped and cut the sentiment on Kraft. I coupled it all with the various blue cardstocks (also SU!).  I then added some additional distressing.  I love the way the blue pops out against the white.

So, will you join us for this challenge?  I hope so and can't wait to see how you are inspired!

Thanks for visiting.

TPD Wednesday

Wednesday is here and so is summer... almost.  One of our families favorite pastimes in summer is going camping as a large group.  We meet up in the middle of our state (we don't all live in the same area) and have a great time.  This year we are staying in a cabin as we go to visit majestic Yellowstone!

So... today's card for Two Paper Divas is made in the spirit of all things summer, R&R and in spending time with family.

This card is pretty generic (no sentiments) so I feel it can be used for many occasions.  It also makes a pretty good masculine card with the colors and lack of frills.  I started with a blue cardstock.  Using a piece of white cardstock I used a Memory Box stencil and some Ranger inks.  I cut that out to the size I wanted, distressed it and mounted iton the blue  Then I came back in with some more distress ink in green to create the grassy look.  Last I stamped my fun tent from TPD's Camping stamp set on the background and then again on Kraft and cut it out and popped it out with dimensionals.  I don't know about you, but this is a scene I would like to just climb into, looks dreamy.

So what is your favorite summer pastime?

Thanks for visiting and please head on over to the Two Paper Divas blog to see what else the DT has cooked up this week.

Curtain Call & Lawnscaping Challenges!

Hi Friends!  Happy Sunday evening!  I could resist playing with the Curtain Call Challenge this weekend, it was too cute to pass up.  And of course because I decided to use Lawn Fawn products, I am entering into the Lawnscaping Challenge too.

Now here is my card:

I had a ton of fun making this.  I used Lawn Fawn's Home Tweet Home set and paper pieced all the little houses using Echo Park paper.  I used my Copics to color the birdies and the branches.  For my bit of shimmer, I added the layer of velum clouds in front of the SU! Pool Party Paper.

Thanks for visiting today!

Birthday Buddies- Vicki

Today is another special day.  It is Ms. Vicki's Birthday!  Always love celebrating our little group of friends with a birthday blog hop!

Here is the card I made for Vicki:

I have had this stamp for so long, and it is singular, so I can't remember who manufactures this.  Gah!  Oh well, it is super cute anyway.  I lvoe using my Copics to color it.  The sentiment is from  Technique Tuesday.  The Cardstock is from SU! and the DP is from Lawn Fawn.  I cut the ovals using My Favorite Things oval die.

Vicki I hope you like it!  Have the most wonderful birthday and do what you love!  I am guessing you'll make more fabulous cards, just like this one!

Here is the hop list:

I had a ton of fun making the card for this week's challenge.

Two words, Doodlebug Designs. I love this cute little turtle and snipped it straight out of a piece of DB paper as my main feature on this card.  The congrats is a Studio Calico die cut from SU! Night of Navy paper.  I used a studio calico hash tag to give it a little more oomph, perfect right?  A sweet little baby card.

TPD Wednesday

Wednesday is here again... and so is Two Paper Divas!

Here is my card to share with you this week:

I love this Fancy Cake stamp, it is perfect for a wedding cake (or any cake for that matter).  I stamped my cake in a few different DPs.  I used glossy white and and elegant embossing folder for my background and used that same shiny paper for the strips on the cake to look like ribbon.  I also colored in the polka dots on the top layer using my signo white pen.  I used this resin flower as my cake topper.  The sentiment is die cut from Little B.

Fusion- Nautical

Happy Friday on Thursday!  I don't have to work tomorrow, so today is my Friday- yay!

And I am super excited because I love this week's Fusion Challenge.  I had so much fun making my creation.  Here is the challenge:

Fun right?  Here is my creation for this week:

Sweet Nessy, Love this Lawn Fawn Set Lovable Legends that I got from The Heart Desire's Store.
It was paired perfectly with this paper from Fancy Pants.  THD store has some fun Nautical Paper by Carta Bella- check it out. I also used my lawn fawn Polaroid die putting the Bella Blvd. acetate paper behind it.  I made a little nautical knot out of some hemp cord and wrapped it around this big blue button.

This challenge is so fun, I do hope you'll play with over at Fusion.

So many options with this fun sketch!

I went ahead and made this birthday card for my Hubby who just had his birthday last Sunday.  (Yep, poor guy has to share with us Mom's most of the time).  But I thought this cupcake was just so scrumptious looking, And the heart wrapper was just to remind him how much I love him. I couldn't resist using all these Dear Lizzy papers, too cute!  I used the Large Cupcake set and the sentiment set Got Cake.  This sentiment always cracks me up!

So won't you come and play along?  I truly can't wait to see what you come up with for the sketch!

787- Inspired by the little things

Happy Saturday!  I love having it be the weekend!  I wish it could be the weekend 5 days a week and work 2 days.  Wouldn't that be awesome!?

Well I wanted to share a card I made for Inspired by All The Little Things Challenge #14.  Here is the inspiration photo:

Isn't it cute?  I just love it (and wish I could eat it).

Here is my card:

I used Lawn Fawn sets.  Stamped the image and colored it myself to look like a specific manufacturers planes.  Can you guess which ones?  I work at that large airplane manufacturing company, so this will be an appropriate going away card for someone there. I used the LF star die to make a negative image and fill it in with this cloud covred acetate from Bo-Bunny.  A little twine, clip and sentiment, wah-lah.

I hope you'v enjoyed this post today, thank you for stopping!

TPD Wednesday- Long Haul

Do you have a favorite stamp that you go back to over and over?  I do, in fact, I have a few and this stamp by Two Paper Divas is one of them.  I love the Truck image!  I think the allure is the old fashioned feel along with the choice of color you pick (which can make it masculine or feminine)

This week I colored the truck with my Horizon Green Copic and it make this truck oh-so-dreamy!  I love how soft it feels, especially against the Dear Lizzy paper. Pick-up Lines sentiment set makes the perfect accoutrement. The die cut shape and embossed background (SU!) are fun and along with the flower clothespin make it perfectly shabby chic.

Check out the TPD blog to see what the design team has in store for you this week!

Super fun isn't it.  Well I just couldn't resist playing along. Here is my card:

I used the fabulous Timber set.  I love this set.  Check out this cute beaver and the fabulous trees.  Perfect with the sentiment I {Heart} Chew!  I also used the Sugar Cuts Stitched Flags dies to add the little die on the bottom.  I stamped my images on my white squares and then colored them with my Copics.  I used this fun Lawn Fawn DP and Stampin' Up! Cardstock to compliment.

So much fun making this!
