Feeling just a little squirrely!

Yep, feeling just a little anxious about Convention. I am excited and a little bit....I don't know what the right feeling is, not scared but...maybe just eager and in suspense about what it will be like. I feel like a squirl all twitchy and on edge. HA!
My husband is so funny, he tells me that he pictures it like this: Hundreds or thousands of women. Young and old, skinny and fat, short and tall, all kinds of women, standing at a stage and they unveil a stamp or something and you all scream and cry. He says it will be like a concert- he says Michael Jackson, but his story makes me think Beattles back in the day- where we all just FREAK out and can't controll ourselves, maybe we'll even faint it is so exciting. Now I am not sure about the fainting or crying, but maybe the screaming. It is funny because I don't get overly excited about things very often, so this is probably the part that makes me the most uncomfortable, but I am pretty sure I will live. In fact, I am pretty sure I'll have a blast!

So anyway, enough about that. Last night I wanted to make a card with my little squirrel from Animal Crackers. I thought it would be perfect with some of the new fall themed paper. Here is what I came up with (below). Admittedly, I don't like about half of this DSP, but I do like some of the pages like this read one with the oak tree print on it. I think this with the Suede and Mustard is a good fall color combo.

All Supplies Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Animal Crackers & Holiday Best
Paper: Soft Suede & More Mustard CS, Autumn Traditions and Thoroughly Modern DSP
Ink/Markers: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel and More Mustard
Accessories: 3/4" Twill Tape, Button Boquet, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Crystal Effects, Dimensionals

And here is another shoebox swap card designed by my friend Christine. I love this color combo, this is a great card!

Are you loving the in-colors???

I am loving (most of) them. There are a few that I am not totally in love with yet, but they are each growing on me a little more each day. Everytime a see a new creation with them, I think, oh that's great.

Speaking of, just wanted to share some more swaps with you that feature every one of the new In-Colors. This might help you see which ones you love too!

This first Card is created by Deborah Napier. It features the Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry In-Colors. I love the layout and the imbossed image, this is so different from the style I do, which is why I think it is so great!

Next is a card from Tina at Swirlygirl Designs. Tina's card features Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo. This cute card did have some gold elastic cord, but I accidentally pulled one out :(, so I removed them. Great idea though right, like a birdcage!

Next, we have a card by Debbie Flattum. This lovely combination has almost all of the In-Colors- Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry. I love this card and I love this stamp set.

Next is a card created by Denise Schwarzkopf and made by me (Shoebox swap). Denise's original had some cute twine woven through the holes under the greeting, but I was being lazy that day- sorry! This darling baby card features Dusty Durango and Soft Suede (whales). I this this is a lovely baby card, and I like the star, great addition.

OK, thanks for stopping by today, hope you are enjoying the new In-Colors as much as I am!

The grass is always greener...

...in other pastures right?! Well here I sit in Seattle and it is wonderful outside, sunny, summery, BUT...yep always a but...it is 95-100 degrees and WE DON'T HAVE AC IN THESE PARTS!!! I am not alone in this scenario, lots of others I know are the same, but I want to tell you that my Condo is South facing with lots of windows and skylights- it is like 90 degrees INSIDE AT NIGHT! Needless to say, we are a grumpy bunch, since we aren't sleeping well. OK enough whining right, your thinking, "what is your point?!" ;) My point is, this is one of the few times I am thinking of winter in the middle of summer (also one of the few times I am happy to go to work, since it has AC- lol!). So last night, I made a Christmas Card. Ice pack on my neck, ice water in hand, I was dreaming of snow!

I made the card above using the Mojo Monday template (or what parts hadn't melted away from my memory yet! Looks like I missed the photo corner in the upper left- oh well!) You can see the template below.

All Supplies are Stampin' Up!
Stamps- Holiday Best (level One Hostess)
Paper- Real Red, Glossy White and Old Olive CS. DSP Merry Moments
Ink- Real Red
Accessories- Scallop Circle Die #2, Organza Ribbon, Pretties Kit, Trio Flower Punch & Star Brads from the Silver Hodgepodge Hardware.

Now this card was sent to me by one of my stamping buddies. Now I have only met her once briefly and mainly communicated via email. She had recently moved and was unpacking and found my birthday gift in a box and sent it. Along with this lovely card, she sent me a supercute magnet. Isn't that just the sweetest thing! Thank you soooooooo much Michelle, you are so nice! Now get that challenge going (and finished) so I can buy you a drink!!! Sure could use it today- 101 degrees- gonna die! bleh!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Chic Botique-

I have really been enjoying my new Chic Botique set. I heard a few people say, what will you do with that set? Well here are two perfect examples below, and I recently did another card featuring the birdcage which you can find here.

This first card was for a shoebox swap I recently participated in. I had fun with the new In-colors, this set and my new lattice die. I also LOVE this lattice die. Doesn't this card make you want to go sit at a cafe in Paris and sip espresso? It certainly makes me want to....sigh.... if only!

This next card is my "scrappy" card. Dont' you think it has more of that scrapbooking feel? I thought it was fun to play with. It sorta seems like a clothes designer's card with the different seamstress elements like the rough paper and the roughly colored sketch, ribbon & buttons.

All supplies Stampin' Up!.
Card 1-
Stamps- Chic Botique
Paper- Basic Black, Kraft, Bermuda Bay
Ink- Basic Black
Accessories- SU! Lattice Die, Paper Piercing Tool, Mini Glue Dots
Card 2-
Stamps- Chic Botique
Paper- Kraft & Certainly Celery CS, Thoroughly Modern & Kaleidoscope DSP
Ink- Basic Black & Melon Mambo Marker
Accessories- Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon, Fresh Favorites Buttons, Scallop Edge Punch
Thanks again for stopping by today!

Little Buckaroo

You might remember in this post where I bought a set of digi stamps to benefit the Make a Wish foundation (MAWF for short) on behalf of little Ethan Weiman, who died at a very young age of Neuroblastoma Cancer. Sad story, but wonderful that money is being raised on his behalf for the MAWF.

Now this little buckaroo here is Ava- Ethan's kid sister. I was just in the mood to play last night when I heard little Ave whoopin' and hollerin' shoutin' for me to make a fun little card with her. :) So I did and it was fun! I imagine that this is how cute my blond little girl would be in such a get up, she would have a lasso around my heart!

All supplies Stampin' Up other than the digi stamp.
Stamp- Circle Circus (Background)
Paper- Dusty Durango CS, Razzleberry Lemonade
Ink- Basic Black & Versamark, Markers- So Saffron, Dusty Durango, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, Really Rust, Real Red, Cameo Coral, Blush Blossom, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black
Accessories- Fresh Favorites Buttons, Dusty Durango Polka Dot Ribbon, Circle Scissor Plus, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping!

Swaps for Convention & FCCC 50

OK, I am stuck, what do I do??? I am trying to make swaps for Convention and I want to make something wonderful and fun, but I don't want to use all my supplies in one fell swoop. I am limited by the amoutn of cardstock and DSP I have, not enought to make many of the same. I can make more than one kind of swap, but then I come back to the first question. AHHHH! Anyway, here is what I was making last night while I was playing around with ideas.

OK, now technically this is "cheating" because I didn't make this card specifically for the challenge, but I am gonna use this for the FCCC #50, because the Razzleberry is the prime color in Courtney's outfit (see below, can't get enough of this color right now!). That girl is cute isn't she?! It is fun to watch and see how big she gets over time. I think if Libby and Courtney lived closer (TX and WA, not close), Sophie and I would love to be friends with them, the girls are about the same age and I already know how great Libby is as a blogging buddy! So anyway, I will dedicate this card to them as fabulous friend(s)!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Sharing some swaps

Just wanted to share some of the cards I have gotten or made from recent swaps I have participated in and loved.

This first card is by Heather Hildebrant. Heather is my wonderful upline. She recently put on a small event for all of us in her group (a shoe box swap) which is where many of these cards came from.

Next we have this adorable baby card by Jennifer Bloomquist. I think she has babies on the brain, not sure why!?! ;)

The third card is by Joelle Nelson. Isn't this lovely, I love the layout.

Finally, we have Michaelynn Richardson, lovely. I think this card is so elegant.

Check out all that razzleberry paper, people are loving it and so am I! I will have more swap cards to show you in the coming days so stay tuned!

lattice die

Not much to say today, had a bad day. Wasn't feeling great and then my car got towed- bleh! Sucky! So after Soap went to bed, I was playing with my new lattice die and loving it. I love to figure the various shapes that go along with it. I feel a little better now after a little creative outlet.

Just been buzzing along

OK, post #2 for today. As you have read, I have been a busy little bee buzzing along. No joke, check out there projects-

first are the two cards we made in our Advanced Technique Club this month- we focused on "Splashing into Summer" aka using liquid mediums.

We worked on watercoloring directly from markers. This was a pretty easy card, but has a great look and the girls LOVED this technique.

For the second card we used the re-inker spread method. They also loved this technique. I was having fun playing with the yellows and purples, accompanied with the new Razzleberry Cardstock. One of the girls said, "I am sad this is a sympathy card because I have to wait to give it away!". But just think how much it will be appreciated then, totally worth it.

Finally, this last card was for another girlfriend who's prego (if you read my post from a few weeks ago you know that I know about 1 million pregnant women!- maybe closer to 10 but still!). Anyway, her little daughter is due in early September and her name is going to be Edie Bee- isn't that cute. I personally have a love for bees and bee images so I was happy to make one more watercolored hive with this little bee on front.

It's been a long time coming

I know, you probably thought I would never come back and post anything fun, but here I am finally to give you some new projects to look at. I have, in fact, been very busy making a variety of things for baby showers and technique club and swaps and will have many things to show you in the upcoming days, I just haven't gotten them up. So sorry for the delay, but you don't have to wait any longer!

The first post today is dedicated to my girlfriend Bree who is expecting a little girl in September. When I was pregnant Bree gave me my first and favorite baby book and I do my best to fill it up for little Sophie. Since I love it so much, I decided to make one for her in return. Now, I did this scrapbook style, but I have to tell you, that it is so much harder than a scrapbook! I was suprised about that for sure. I guess it is because you dont' have the pictures and you can't fill up the pages and you have to leave a lot of room for journaling. I should have taken pics of all the pages, but I didn't. Per usual, I was in a hurry to get it done before her shower on Sunday, which I was throwing. Sadly, I didn't get to go to the shower, a serious bout of food poisoning kept me home. :( I was so sad, but was glad to be able to pass the torch. I am told everyone had fun.

Finally, here is the card I gave Bree. Not totally babyish, but kidish and fun and there is a story behind it. I was determined to play this weeks From Courtney's Closet Challenge over at Libby's blog because I love to play them and because I LOVE Hello Kitty (much to my husband's dismay... get over it honey, Sophie's gonna pick up this habit from me- wink!). So as I was at my LSS getting the last bits of supplies for the baby book, I saw they had these Hello Kitty die cuts, how fortuitious! So I *had* to get one and I thought that it was a sign that I shoudl not only play the challenge but put it on a card for Bree.

So Congrats to Bree and hubby and the little baby to be, can't wait to cuddle you! :)

Blog Name Contest Winner!

OK, I still have not yet picked a new blog name. It is just too hard! Right now I am leaning towards Plentiful Paper, which wasn't even one of my original options! I may never decide, but I figured, I better quit stalling and pick a winner since I wasn't getting any more votes- so, with out further ado, using the random.org, the winner is....

Ooh! Stamp Between the Lines is excellent. I vote for that. I have no good ideas of my own though. :-) Katie's Awesome Blog of Coolnes?? ;-)

Thanks Molly. I think Katie's Awesome Blog of Coolness is pretty good, but not quite modest enought for me, but thanks for the idea! :) Anyway, contact me with your address and I will send you the card stock and DSP.

New Blog Name

Newer posts below this one, this will be on top until I decide (or don't- meaning I don't change) on a new blog name.

OK folks, I need your help! I am trying to come up with a new name for my blog, the address will remain the same, but the name different. I have a few ideas, but I would like some feedback from YOU!

Please comment below on which name you prefer OR if you have another name you think is better. As a reward, I will pick a random winner (or the person who's name I like best if not my own) to receive some free cardstock and Designer Series Paper from me. Here are the names I have come up with so far:

  • Rock, Paper, Scissors
  • The Paper Path
  • (the) Space In-between
  • Stamp Between the Lines
  • Creative Clutter
  • Paper takes Flight

Edited 7/9 to add-

  • Paper Gazing

I can't tell if they are really lame or really good, thinking about it too hard! I really appreciate your help!

Do you feel like...

....you see pregnant women everywhere? I never did before I was pregnant, then I saw them all the time, obviously didn't notice before then. But now, again, almost two years later, I swear I see more pregnant women than not. Now I know you might jump to a conclusion that I am pregnant again, but negatory, nope, nadda, I just see them all over. I literally know about 9 women, personally who are pregnant. I will tell you this- DON'T DRINK THE WATER!!! :)

Anyway, this card is for a co-worker friend of mine's shower. She really likes little birdies, so I went with the fun cheap talk set. I know the colors are maybe a little too pink (at least for me, I am more into the unisex) but I couldn't resist. I hope she likes it!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you like it too!

I didn't get to...

...biggie size this one, but at least I have something new to show you.

This was a card I made at my mom's house over the 4th. You could say it was my own limited supply challenge. My mom has been buying stuff from me, but other than a few Christmas tags has yet to use it. I think she is a little intimidated, she's so cute!

Anyway, she had very little paper and a few markers, mostly Christmas colors. So I used what I could and spruced it up in other ways. I tore the edges of the certainly celery, then inked them up and glittered that part to make a sandy sort of look with the blue background. I stamped the shells in on white with black ink and colored the shadows of one with only orange (she got this to color the penguins beaks- LOL!) and the other with garden green. I then took a baby wipe with the only other ink pad she had- chocolate chip- got the brown on the wipe and when direct to the shell image to tone down the shells on the WW cardstock. I finished it off with some more glitter here. Behind the shells you can see the linen thread tied in a knot. Last but not least I stamped, so glad we are friends.

I left this card for my mom for three reasons, 1- she loves shells and the ocean, 2- I am glad we are friends, and 3- she asked! Silly woman, I would have left it for her anyway! :)

Just a little snack...

...to tide you over until I can get it together whip something new up for a full meal deal for you.

This was another 6X6 card I made for one of my co-workers. She moved away recently and it was sad to see her go, but I wish her the best on her new adventures/life. I pick the 6X6 size so everyone in the office can sign the card.
Anyway, that's all I have for you today. I hadn't posted in a while, was gone over the fourth and have been busy, but thought I could give you one of the things I had made but hadn't gotten to post.
Thanks for stopping by! :)
