Note- again, still missing some of my gear to make good quality photos- working on it though!
On my recent trip to San Francisco while waiting for my flight, I was in the airport and looking through the magazine racks. I found one of those scrapbooking stamping magazines and thought it would be a fun read on the plane. I found a few things inside that inspired me, so as soon as I had time, I made them.
This first card was inspired by another baby card that had a lion on it. The colors on that were mainly white and orange with a bit of lavendar. I thought of my little lion and decided to use it and some bits of the same colors because I liked the combo. For my little lion mane, rather than cutting it out, I simply punched a 3/4" circle and cut inwards all the way around to make a little more dimension. I was excited to be able to use my new stamp from the Everything Nice Stamp set. I think this is a fun and bright baby card (not just your average pastels, although I like those too), perfect for a little boy.
This card too was inspired by that same magazine. Not much is similar from that card to mine except the layout- the three base squares were taken from that card. I changed the color scheme and occassion, added some ribbon and a journaling circle from The Write Stuff Specialty DSP pack and did some paper peicing with my main image. I love this color combo, brown, pink and green I think I'll give this card to my mom for her birthday in 1.5 weeks. We are meeting her on the Oregon Coast for a little beach time! :) We do this almost every year, it is what she likes to do for her birthday. We did it last year too, you may remember this gift I gave her here.
super cute, katie! your layouts are so fun:) I bet your little one loves that lion image!
ReplyDeleteOh your little lion is adorable! I love it! What a great idea to use the punch and snip around it. I also LOVE your pink/brown card - it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteKatie, these are cute! Great minds think alike...I've done a lion and the gift stack with linen thread for an upcoming SAS! Did we see the same ideas or are we just SO good? :-)
ReplyDeleteJust GOOD! :)
