Hello! Sorry I missed getting the Flashback Friday post up. I was volunteering all day for Obliteride. This is the first year of Obliteride, which is variable length bike ride (25, 50, 100 and 180 miles routes), that is being put on by my work place, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. The goal is to end cancer! We want to raise money to support the Center so we can continue our life saving research! Pretty good cause eh?! We are grant funded and were impacted by the government sequestration- boo. :( I am going to volunteered for support work, I helped put the medical kits together for the support vehicles and medical tent. It was a lot of heavy stuff around and sorting. It was hot and dusty, but fun and I met some great people.
Here is a card I made, I was inspired by the Curtain Call Watermelon Wonder colors (though the contest is closed). with this color spectrum how could I not use this cutie digi from By LORi Designs. . Most of the paper is from Dear Lizzy (my fave paper of the moment). I love the sentiment, Be-you-tiful, which is from Reverse Confetti's Peacock Pretties set. I am linking up to the following challenges: By LORi Designs- Designer Paper, Mojo Monday 305, Ribbon Carousel Challenge 84- Summer Fun.
Onto Flashback Friday- I'll just pull out a very few of my fave questions and answers from the last two(ish) weeks:
Question from 8/7- Would you dive in a cage with Great White Sharks?
Definitive Answer by all- NO WAY!
Question from 7/31- I am afraid of 8 legged creepy crawly things. What are you afraid of?
Answer- Bugs were certainly the top answer, but I loved this from Jane-
Well Katie....me being a fully affiliated arachnophobe, I totally get your dilemma,, I once killed a spider the size of my head!!!! (I also exaggerate a million times more than I should) anyway, I killed it by pouring bleach on it, cruel, I know, I phoned my friend in a panic and she rushed over to my house thinking I had murdered someone as I sounded that distraught...(distraught because I had to get so close to pour the bleach on it....and did I mention the size of it!!!) Anyway, your card is a cutie, I have loved seeing your work and hope to see more of you. :)
OK, just one more....
Question from 7/30- We were talking about made up words or those not in the dictionary (e.g. Ginormous or my daughter's exampled Potato-nub-nub. What are some of the words you use?
Answer from CM-
Potato-nub-nub...how sweet and hilarious! Love your post, and your card is fantastic! Clever+++ As for 'imaginative' phrases: for reasons I have no clue about, I call toes, "gullers." Weird or what...No clue why. Hmmmm....Love your question-posed posts!!
Today's Question of the Day is- if you could ask any question what would it be?
super cute card. just back from volunteering at the ride myself. I was the start line staging. It was really inspiring to see all the riders getting started. My question is what your fav paper craft tool is?
ReplyDeleteHi Katie! This is such a cute card! Thank you very much for joining us at By LORi Designs! Blessings – LORi BOYD
ReplyDeleteLove your coloring and paper choices. Great design! My question would be the same as CWu :)
ReplyDeleteYour cycling event sounds fabulous: definitely a most worthy cause! Your volunteer role - huge applause for donating your time! Exhausting, yes, but ever so rewarding! Your card is delightful! Amazing colouring, and the patterned papers are perfect pairings to go with that sweet little girl image! Love it!! My question for you: what are your favourite two stamp sets that you'd recommend to a newcomer to card-making (and maybe a couple samples of your fantastic cards that showcase them. Please?). Enjoy your Sunday!
