OH EM GEE!

It totally just dawned on me that next Tuesday is the last day home with my little girl.  I have the day off to stay with her since camp is out and the following morning she will get on the bus for the first time to go to Kindergarten.  KINDERGARTEN!  OH EM GEE where has the time gone?!  I could potentially sit down and cry right now, I want to, but instead I am going to put my thoughts towards what special thing I can do for her that am or afternoon (other than just being there) to let her know how special she is and how proud I am of my big girl.  Any thoughts?  Let's actually make that the Question of the Day!  I had something else in mind prior to sitting down and typing this but now I have to go with that question.  So what ideas do you have for something special I can do for my baby?

All previous train of thought has been disrupted, no there may not have been much but there was something there before!  I have no idea what I was even going to post about today. Now I just want to show you pics of my little girl and reminisce!  Here are a couple of my love. :)

I did have a card to share, but I think it would pale in comparison to my beautiful little girl, so maybe come back tomorrow and look for it then! :)

  1. Awwww....such a cutie pie! Big day for her and you....are you going to follow the bus? HA I did:)

Other than the normal, special breakfast & special notes in her lunch, picture of her holding a sign that says she's a kindergartener...I'm at a loss. Can't wait I hear the suggestions!

    Good luck Momma:)

  2. Your right. Your daughter is a wonderful thing to celebrate, and a great thing to blog about. I do have some ideas for you that were shared with me when my little ones went off to school for the first time. (btw....my "baby" just graduated from college, so it's been awhile. But I still remember it as if it were yesterday. :)

On the first day of school, our "afterschool snack" was always something special. A "fancy Cake" was usually what we had. At our house, afterschool snacks were always healthy snacks EXCEPT for the first day. That day was special so we celebrated. My kids still remember that, which makes me very, very happy. Also, on the first day of school I always met with another Mom for lunch at a place with a play area. (One year we went to the park for a picnic) That way my younger children had a special day too and I had someone to talk to so I didn't go home and cry.
So my advice would be to celebrate. Celebrate, have a wonderful time, and make memories. :)

  4. Funny... Jill C. just posted about her bean going to a big pre-school, and I commented about my bean going off to college!
Dropped her off a week ago. It is crazy. I just sent out a care package to her, the first of probably many. I tried to think about easy, fun things but that were useful.
Maybe you could get her some fancy pencils or a cool eraser or both. or a key chain on her backpack with a sweet photo of the two of you.
    Cheers to New Adventures~

  6. Kindergarten already! OH MY! I hope that she enjoys her first year of school!!! I don't have any advice for you- I don't have kids. But I can tell you that communicating with her after school and spending time with her (asking her questions/etc.) will make her feel extra special! **I think Michelle said it perfectly!!! OHHHHHHHH!! And take lots of pics:) <3
