Hello. I do wish it wasn't Sunday night, but what can you do. The great news is that I had a fabulous weekend. My family and I went for a hike to Wallace Falls yesterday. It was quite the hike. Not the longest distance ever, but a lot of up, up, up! Today, I was able to do some crafting and that was awesome.
I made this card for the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge that began today. I was inspired by the mirror in the upper left corner of the picture. I thought I had a stencil similar to that, nope, i realized I was wrong, so I used this stencil from TCW instead. I added the color using my Gelatos. I stamped the I Heart Art set and cut it out. I put one of the Paper Smooches hearts behind the HE[ART} part of the sentiment. The paints brushes colored in red to mimic the read heart. I added some fun ribbon from Simon Says Stamps and some Freckled Fawn red pearls as a finisher.
I don't think I've ever used red and green together with out it being a Christmas/Holiday card. It was a daring choice for me, but I think it worked out.
I hope you have a good Monday!
You are too sweet!!! I truly think you gave me that stencil!!!! This is an amazing card! Wallace Falls is quite the hike. I have gone a fewtimes. ALL the way UP UP UP... I will bet it felt exhilirating afterwards, tiring but so good to get all that fresh air!!!!. Great job!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your color choices...awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis is cute !! And hiking sounds fun :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you were inspired! The red and green work great together on your card, and I think that stencil is perfect!
ReplyDeleteYour hike sounds wonderful and I'm applauding your stamina! We have a few hikes that I love, but they're not accessible until later in the Spring. My favourites: Lake Louise, up to both tea houses and Takakkaw Falls, where we have a couple of choices, both offering plenty of 'up' then down. Five to six hours! I really need to commit to some exercise! Your daring choices here work wonderfully! Absolutely gorgeous! Gelatos for stenciling..hmmm. May need to explore that technique!
