Welcome back to the final day of The Rabbit Hole Designs September Release blog hop! I hope you have been having fun! I certainly have. :)
For my first card today, I have a little something special. Have you ever heard of the Teal Pumpkin Project? Well it is a project to raise awareness about food allergies and inclusion on Halloween. If you put a teal pumpkin out in front of your home or shop, it means folks can expect a non-food treat. You can read more about it here. So that is what inspired this card.
To make this card, I started by stamping and coloring my pumpkin image with my Copics. After It was complete, I cut it out with my snips. I set that aside and found cut a piece of white cardstock to 4 X 5.25. I used my distress inks to make the sky, starting with a lighter blue at the bottom and gradually getting darker. Once I was done I ran it through my die cut machine with the falling stars background die from Gina Marie. I stamped the sentiment along the bottom and the pumpkin image (to get the shadow). I added some blue glitter paper behind for the stars. I set that down in time to die cut the fence in black (I can't remember the specific name of this die, I added something similar to supplies below). I placed them along the front of the paper just above where the pumpkin would sit. Then I added my pumpkin using foam tape. Finally, I mounted it all on a black card base.

ReplyDeleteAs a grandma of a little boy with Galactosemia-born without the ability to process galactose, I am so glad to see the blue pumpkin. Thank you for spreading the word about the blue pumpkins in the gorgeous card. In my grandson’s case, his diet is extremely limited, yet we all want him and others with similar restrictions to have as normal a childhood as possible. Love the second card as well.
