Let is snow!

The weather for the Seattle area calls for Snow tomorrow.  I know not everyone wants that but I say yay!

Meanwhile, t-minus 5.5 days and counting until Christmas!  I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! Typically I have a little last minute stuff to do but am pretty on the ball.  Not this year!  Oh boy do I feel that harried-tarried feeling this year.  I think it might be due to the fact that US Thanksgiving came later than normal this year and the classes I've been taking (which are done now, whew!  I just have to take the test!), but whatever, I am scrambling.

Typically I send out 50-65 homemade cards per year and the list continues to grow.  This year I think the total will only hit 45 or 50.  Of course I feel bad, but a girl can only do so much!  I had about 10 holiday cards made prior to this last weekend, so over the course of 4 days I made about 40 more.  Phew!  But of course I am enjoying it a little... ;), just not the time pressure part.  Meanwhile, here is one of the varieties of cards I made in the last few days.  I haven't entered any challenges in a week or two so I am having withdrawls!!! ;)  So....entering into- Pinspired Challenge #23, Curtain Call Challenge- Sweet Snowflakes, and CAS-ology- Knit!

For me, now that I make homemade cards I can't NOT make homemade cards.  I feel like going to the store and purchasing cards is like cheating!  So the Question of the Day is (assuming you are a card maker too)- What is your philosophy on sending out homemade cards vs. store bought cards?  AND/OR what is your favorite occasion to send cards for?

For those of you that celebrate Christmas, I hope it is very Merry!  If not, I hope you enjoy the glow and cheer of the season and wish you the best for whatever holidays you do celebrate.  I'd love to know about those other holidays too, so feel free to comment about that today as well. :)

  2. Whoa! Your card making trumps my tag making in a heart-beat! And huge applause to you for taking time to put that 'extra touch' into each card you make! I'm with you: no bought cards! As a result, I'm so behind in making Christmas cards that other than family, I'm going for New Years and or "just because" in January! LOVE your snowglobe snowman with his broom (only broom I've seen all season on a card!). Darling!

  5. Oh I love this adorable snow globe card. It is oh so sweet.

I love sending out cards. I don't make any store bought ones, but thankfully I am a very CAS card maker. So as the year goes by for Christmas I make a few CAS cards that are simple one layer cards and I repeat them about 8 times so that I have more in my stash. I used to make all the same card...I can't do that anymore...too repetitive!

    Way to rock the snowglobe!
I have so many supplies, as you know...I could never justify sending out store bought cards...only if they were photo ones, kwim? or perhaps letterpress, gotta love letterpress.
