Bucket List

So do you have a bucket list?  If so, what is on it?  I was thinking about my bucket list today, not sure why, . I have a few things on my list, mostly things to see that I know will be incredible.  I'd love to see some of the 7 wonders of the world, like Ankgor Wat, the Taj Mahal, the Great Pyramid of Giza and Machu Picchu.  I'd also love to travel to South Africa to go on safari, visit Tuscany and Cinque Terra, see Rio during Carnival and view the Northern Lights.  I'd love to do some more snorkeling and search for Bigfoot.  Of all those, I don't know how many are realistic.  Certainly the last too and maybe a few of the trips if not more.  I am sure there are other things too if I put my mind to it.

So today, I am kinda sorta visiting the Northern Lights....at least in my imagination.  That was my inspiration for this card, the stars and the lights of the Northern sky.  I used a different technique with this than usual.  I used my Simon Says Stamp Falling stars stencil, placed it on my paper and then used versamark to fill in the little holes.  I then embossed the stars white and added to mists after.  Even though powder embossing is one of my favorite techniques, If I did it over, I would likely mist and use embossing paste on top.  Oh well, live and learn.  I added a few swooshes from Paper Smooches Positive Strokes set to emphasize the swirling of the colors.  Finally, I used my Happy Trails stamp set and dies from Lawn Fawn to make it appear that some little campers are enjoying the sky's wonders. :)

Maybe one day that will be you or me.  Whaddoya think?  Today's Question of the Day is what is on your bucket list?

Entering this into:
Virginia's View Challenge- Stencils
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge- Journey

Thanks for visiting!

OH MY OH MY KA! I loooooooove that background that you've created for this card--- love!!!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful! And I think you've made me visit the Northern Lights as well---- FABULOUS card:)

Answer: hmmmm..... I just checked off a bucket list item (visiting Israel)..... so my other bucket list items would include: visiting our child that we sponsor in India, going to Egypt (I want to see the pyramids--- but Trav says it's too dangerous), and really living my life for Jesus (I try to do this daily, but sometimes my mean side comes out... so it needs to stay on my bucket list so I remember to do it! LOL). <3

I absolutely adore your take on this card! What a great thing to dream about: the Northern Lights! That is one thing that I, too, would have on my Bucket List and I love how you brought it to life with this card. The swirly background you created is stunning and I love the idea of sitting out in the woods in a trailer watching the beautiful lights above me! Your card made me feel like it's not so impossible after all! Thanks so much for sharing your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

Love it! Wonderful colors! I did use washi on the card, no decorative paper at all. Sorry for the delay in getting back with you! :) Have a great week! :)

Your version of the Northern Lights is not only pretty, but so realistic! My mom's family lives in Northern Alberta, so we've had opportunity to see - and hear ( they can spark and crackle loudly!) - the Northern Lights on many occasions. A spectacular sight; one that surely belongs on a Bucket List. One item on mine: taking my niece and nephew to Disneyland. How fun that would be...
