The Rabbit Hole Designs New Release- Stencils!!!

HELLOOOOOO!  I know, you saw my hint yesterday and couldn't figure out what rhymed with pencil so came back to see. 😉  So, it is STENCIL!  Stencil rhymes with Pencil!  And The Rabbit Hole Designs now has them as part of their line up and the debut stencils release today. WOOHOO!
For this release I was working with the Candy Twist Stencil.

Here is my first card using the hidden sentiment technique.  It is super simple but packs a punch for a fun result.

I started by using the stencil on white paper with Distress Inks (see colors in the supply list below).  Once I had the colors I wanted I cut to the appropriate width (5.5) and die cut the curved border (Pretty Pink Posh).  Next I used this Thanks word die (MFT) and cut it out of the middle of the stenciled area.  Next, I cut the same out in black foam paper. I glued the layers together. I set those aside and mounted my stenciled image onto a 4.25 X 5.5 card base.  I added the sentiment back in and adhered it.  Finally, I added some embellishments. Here is a slightly closer view:

Here is my second card which was fun to make and just a little bit different.  Keep reading for the how to.

Here is how I made this card.  I started by using my stencil on white with my Pebeo Gold Gilding Wax.  While it was still wet, I added some little flakes of these stars.  I set it aside to dry completely before cutting it out with my deckle edge die.  Next, I stamped my peonies from the Pretty in Peony stamp set using versamark ink on watercolor paper and embossed in gold.  Then I colored them with my zigs (pinks and peaches and mint green).  Once done, I cut them out.  and mounted them on the white panel.  Lastly, I mounted the white panel on a mint colored cardstock.

Here is a close up:

I hope you like these new stencils as much as I do.  Reminder that you can get the Candy Twist Stencil 👉 HERE.

The Rabbit Hole Designs New Release- Inky

Happy Day 2 of the release from The Rabbit Hole Designs!  Great news, you can now find these stamp sets at Simon Says Stamps?!  I know, so cool!

Here is the newest set called Inky, which is done with Duff Designs

The octopi in this set make me happy, they are so fun and I love their eyes!  I really enjoyed making cards with these stamps.

Here is how I made this first card.  I started with these ocean background dies (Memory Box).  I die cut them on a series of blue papers.  However, I didn't have the front layer in exactly the right color, so I used distress inks to color the top layer (Broken China and Salty Ocean).  I also splattered them with water and a little white ink to add some splashed/salty look.  I stamped the sentiment on the top layer. Then, I mounted them one on top of the other to create the dimension.  Next, I die cut some seaweed and coral in colored paper (Impression Obsession).  I stamped the images, colored them with my copics and placed them in my scene. The fish and Jelly are form the Mermaid Hair set.

My second card completely plays with the punny sentiment!  Imagine that backdrop as colored ink! :)

This card is 5X5.  To make this one, I started by coloring im image with Copics (you can see full list of colors below).  I used a no-line coloring technique.  Once done, I added accents with my gel pen and fussy cut it out.  I set this aside and worked on my background.  To make it I used Lindy's Magicals and water to create this look.  I also used a heat gun to dry it as I went.  Next I cut it to 4.5 X 4.5.  I stamped my sentiment on black in versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I stapled it to the white base and mounted my Octopus.  Next, I cut a layer of shiny fuchsia cardstock at 4.75 X 4.75.  Lastly I cut a black piece at 5 X 5 and mounted all the layers together.

There are so many other cards in this hop that are super cool.  Check them out along the hop to be eligible for a prize!!!
