Happy Together

Same disclaimer as yesterday, sorry about the poor photo quality, go back to see what's been going on there. Hopefully, you can look past the poor quality to see the cute card underneath, I swear it catches your eye in real life!
Anyway, I was playing around with my new stamp set Happy Together, isn't it cute?! Well I think so, because I LOVE California Quail with their little bobble on top of their head. I think this card is good for the bird lovers in life- for me my dad. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't even know what a California Quail was! This is also a pretty masculine card with the Dusty Durango and Night of Navy, so that works. I used some of my old DSP from last year on this one (Autumn something or other...) and it goes perfect with the color scheme. I think this card is cute and fun and I enjoyed making it and using my new stamps and Scallop Oval Frame that I had swapped with another die with my friend Heather.

Enjoy your day!

Feeling inspired

Note- again, still missing some of my gear to make good quality photos- working on it though!

On my recent trip to San Francisco while waiting for my flight, I was in the airport and looking through the magazine racks. I found one of those scrapbooking stamping magazines and thought it would be a fun read on the plane. I found a few things inside that inspired me, so as soon as I had time, I made them.

This first card was inspired by another baby card that had a lion on it. The colors on that were mainly white and orange with a bit of lavendar. I thought of my little lion and decided to use it and some bits of the same colors because I liked the combo. For my little lion mane, rather than cutting it out, I simply punched a 3/4" circle and cut inwards all the way around to make a little more dimension. I was excited to be able to use my new stamp from the Everything Nice Stamp set. I think this is a fun and bright baby card (not just your average pastels, although I like those too), perfect for a little boy.

This card too was inspired by that same magazine. Not much is similar from that card to mine except the layout- the three base squares were taken from that card. I changed the color scheme and occassion, added some ribbon and a journaling circle from The Write Stuff Specialty DSP pack and did some paper peicing with my main image. I love this color combo, brown, pink and green I think I'll give this card to my mom for her birthday in 1.5 weeks. We are meeting her on the Oregon Coast for a little beach time! :) We do this almost every year, it is what she likes to do for her birthday. We did it last year too, you may remember this gift I gave her here.

Enjoy your week, I'll be dreaming of being on the coast with my mom and family! :)

Belated Valentine

First, let me give my disclaimer about my photos. One of my lights is out in my Studio in a Box, and I am having a hard time finding the correct replacement. Also, I was unable to loacate my camera yesterday but was feeling desperate to get a few of these pictures up on my blog, so took these photos with my phone. Considering they are from the phone, not bad, but still not great. Appologies for the poor quality.

I was on a work trip over Valentines Day, so I wasn't able to spend it with my two loves. Instead, I got to see my friend Stacey, which was nice, but I did miss my fam. I wanted to be sure they knew how much I loved them, so I made each of them a card before I left and put it on the table for V-day.

This card is for my husband. I wanted to give him something nice, but perhaps a little less femanine (with the reds and pinks). I am not sure I succeeded in that, but I enjoyed making the card anyway. I played with a lot of different things with this card, dies and embossing folders, brads, punches and ribbon, it was fun. A little outside my comfort zone, I tend to like to keep things simple with less layers, but what the heck. I heard someone say recently (actually a quote from Shelly Gardner, SU! CEO at a recent leadership conference) that you can tell how much you love someone by how many layers are on the card. Well Honey, I sure do love you! :)

The next card is one for my daughter. This is a little more simple, which is a little more my style. However, I did do a few things here I don't do much. First of all, I used my pastels, which I have probably used only twice since I got them! It was kinda fun to use a medium other than markers to color in. I colored the flowers from my new Sale-a-bration set to make my own designer paper of sorts. The other thing that was fun here was using some hodgepodge hardware- again something I don't use much of. I know this card doesn't scream valentines day, but it says all it needs to, "Small Wonder". My little girl is a small wonder and that is one of the many reasons I love her.

Hope you enjoyed. Thanks for stopping by today. I plan to have two more posts in the next few days (again, they will be the poor picture quality, but hopefully you can see the good stuff that lies beneath).

tonight

I've got several items to post, but since my bulb in my photo box has been out I haven't taken pics yet. I am hoping to get the bulb tonight (provided I can track it down- this will be the 4th place I've looked). Stay tuned for some new cards, including the v-day ones for my family and a few others.

Puntastic 4 Pack

Do you remember this card that I posted a few weeks ago here- my little love monkey? Well I decided this little guy from the Fox & Friends stamp set needed some of his buddies to come along on a Puntastic adventure! (Yes, very cheesy I know- smile!) So I created 3 more cards to go along and make this a 4 pack gift set. (Appologies about the lighting, one of my lights in my photo studio in a box burned out as I was taking these pictures, will have to get that fixed!)

First we have "Get Whale Soon"....

Next is "You're a Hoot"....

and finally "Lion Heart"...

I thought this made a good 4 pack with some specific cards (love & get well) and a few that can be used for any occassion (thank you, friends, birthday, whatever). I suppose now I'll have to make a gift box and give them to someone! :) Any suggestions about a box or whom I should give these too?
Thanks for stopping by!
