CLC and STAMPlorations
Hey, Hey, Happy Friday! The best day of the week is always better when Coffee hops are involved am I right? Lucky for you, this is one of those weeks. CLC is collaborating with STAMPlorations! And of course it comes along with PRIZES and a SALE! Read on to learn more.
You should have arrived here from the fabulous Kerry Urbatch's blog. If not, I recommend you can go back to the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog to start from the beginning.
Here is my card for today's hop:
This card features the most awesome Zen Coffee 2 cover plate! This plate is swoon-worthy and offers so many possibilities! I wanted to use it with a rainbow of colors but didn't want to be prescriptive about what color went where. So my strategy involved cutting this plate in 7, that's right, SEVEN different colors. I started by cutting the first five layers. I wanted the pink layer in the front so I poked out pretty much every cut out. I continued to cut and poke out pieces randomly, leaving more in with each layer. When I was able to get the first five layers as I wanted them I adhered them together. I then decided I needed more indigo and purple, so I cut them and added the pieces in randomly. Once I had the basic structure I stamped the sentiment from the Coffee Happy stamp set onto a bit of vellum. I cut it into a small square and added it over my cup. Wahlah! Happiness in a Cup!
I want to send you onto Kathy Schweinfurth's blog, BUT before you go, make note:
STAMPlorations is giving away a $25 gift certificate. Just comment on all participating blogs by 8/3 at 11:55 pm PT and you are in the running!

Get Wild!
Popping in today to share a card I made a little while back for a friend who was retiring at work. Though I was jealous it wasn't gonna be me... ;) I decided to wish her the best anyway!
I have got to tell you HOW cute this card is. I can't take much credit, it is simply that the Craftin' Desert Divas set is sooooo cute. AND the Lawn Fawn box card die is the perfect setting. It was so easy to put together. The images were stamped and colored with copics. I set them amid some palm fronds, green and zebra stripe paper, as if they were on safari. I also die cut a bit of Lawn Fawn grass for which to set my cute critters.
Here is another shot of those cute critters!
Gotta play with If You Give a Crafter A Cookie- and here is why....
Wishing you a happy Monday!

CLC and Fun Stamper's Journey
You should arrived here from the fabulous Erin's blog! I know you loved that stop because I sure did! If you didn't start there, go to FSJ blog for the full hop list.
Here is what I have for you today:
This first card features some emboss resist. I stamped the images from the Coffee Helps Stamp Set with my versamark and embossed white on this watercolor paper. Once I had that done I cam back in with my distress inks and used a little water to spread them out a bit more. Once that layer was done and dried I backed it with a slightly larger piece of black paper. I then stamped the sentiment on an additional strip of white paper. Underneath that I added a larger strop of vellum for a little flair. Lastly I added these sweet flower sequins.
Here is another shot that gives you a sense of the vellum and the dimension between the black and white base.
This next card is admittedly my favorite of the two. Think about it, coffee = sunshine... enough said right. To create this card, I started by die cutting a circle. I used a stencil and distress inks to create the sunshine and then I came back in with the sentiment in some Archival Black ink so it would pop (and it does)! Once that set the stage, it was pretty easy to add a few clouds, background paper and a few enamel dots to accentuate the message.
Here is another close up of that sunshine that just makes me happy!
This stamp set could be yours too. You can purchase it OR I mentioned a prize... it is a wonderful $25 dollar gift certificate to Fun Stampers Journey!!! To be eligible for the prize, please leave comments on all participating blogs. Commenting will close on Friday, July 27 at 11:55 pm pacific.
Now off you go to Ms. Kathy's blog for another amazing creation! Thank you so much for your visit!

Plant Dreams
You know what they say about jobs, most people leave because they don't like their manager, it has nothing to do with their job. Well, I have to say, I think that is true. I have had a few doozies for managers in my time (I am sure we all have) but I currently have a manager I really like. It feels a bit like winning the lottery compared to my two prior managers. I hold the tenet of treat other's like you want to be treated, so I never understood those bosses who seem to not care about anyone but themselves. My current boss behaves as if she believes that tenet too, she cares about her team, wants them to be engaged, she tries to develop people and remove roadblocks, etc... she is a leader, not a manager.
So you might be thinking, "OK Katie, what is your point?" Well not much really, just going on and on about how it is nice to feel good going to work. With that tenet of the Golden Rule I wanted to say thank you to my boss for being who she is and the best way I know how to do that is to create a card with my two hands to send that message. Here is my labor of love.
This cared was created by die cutting some white Copic friendly paper with the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches die cut. On that paper I masked and stamped the three sunflowers from Waffle Flower Grow Happiness Set, I wanted to add depth and dimension as if it was a real garden. I took a bit of time coloring them and used my white pen to create the seeds in the middle of the flowers. I added a little blue around to mimic the sky. Next I die cut the fence with some woodgrain paper and followed with a grass die. Once that was complete I stamped the sweet mouse and wheelbarrow. I colored and cut them out using my Copics and Scan n' Cut. I went back in and colored a tiny flower and hand cut it to tuck behind them mouse's ear. This image was then placed in front of the garden. I stamped a little leaf to the right and stamped "plant dreams" as the primary part of the sentiment and then added the "you" from a Concord & 9th set. Lastly I added some green polka dot DP behind.
I hope my boss likes this labor of love and understands that she is truly appreciated.

Magic
Sometimes you just need a little big of magic in your life to get you through the day. And that is what this card feels like to me. I don't know what it is, the critters, the colored bubbles, the brights... I just makes me smile.
The backdrop is a very soft blue color. On top of which is some Doodlebug Designs DP that I die cut using Gina Marie Designs Die. In front of that you might see the sea week which is die cut using a Memory Box die and color added using Distress Inks. The the right of the seaweed is the fun sentiment. Finally, you have the sweet images from Darcie's. She makes the most darling, kid-tastic images. I colored the seahorse to match the flair and made the narwhal purple and pink. Perfect use of my Copics and oh so bright and fun.
I think this will make the perfect card for a child's birthday party.
Thanks for visiting, I hope you find a little magic in your day.

Bring on the Cake!
Hey, Hey! Happy Day!
I have lots of birthday's to celebrate in the summer time so I have been busy making Bday cards... such as this one.

Thanks for your visit!
I have lots of birthday's to celebrate in the summer time so I have been busy making Bday cards... such as this one.
To create this card, I started by stamping out he cake from Decorate-a-Cake and added the extra bits to create the frosting. The flowers are from the Hopeful Flowers stamps set, I thought they would be a nice addition to the cake. The blooms are intended to be on the cake, but I liked the idea of hanging them off this banner. All are colored using my Copics. The banner is a die cut from
Crafter's Companion. The DP is a scrap from my scrap pile, I believe it *might* have once been a sheet of Echo Park paper.
Here is another shot of the card.
This card is so fun, specifically because it is pretty gender neutral. The colors are a bit more masculine perhaps but the florals allow it to be feminine. Who would you give this to? A guy or a gal?
I am in love with this new company Trinity Stamps and encourage you to visit the shop!

Espresso Patronum
Hee-eey! How was your weekend? Mine was filled with some amazing things! A garage sale with friends that included sales and some stamps. And I got to meet the owner of Trinity Stamps!!! She was sweet and wonderful and... as we live near one another, hand delivered my order! So I couldn't resist playing with some stamps over the weekend.
This card is pretty CAS. I focused on stamping and coloring the images with Copics. They are so fun and I LOVE the sentiment! I placed them on a die cut circle by SugarPea Designs. Next I added a little DP and a green strip of paper. Mostly there is a lot of white and I think it makes the colored images pop!
So just a quick post today to share my new goodies!
Thanks for visiting!

Here is a fun card I enjoyed creating using Avery Elle Stamps. I colored with Copics. The waves and backdrop are created using distress inks, respectively MFT stencil and Studio Calico Stencil. The oval is an MFT die.
