Fanciful Fall

Happy Whimsy Release friends!  We have some fun new products for you this time around.  My first and fave....

Check out the amazing Leaf Layers set.  It is so lovely it makes me swoon.  I paired it with the Connected Oval Frame die  die cut in this fantastic glittery gold paper.

I stamped my images with versamark on watercolor paper and used Wow embossing powders both Gold and Copper.  I used my Zigs with these bright fun colors to create the leaves.  When they were dry, I fussy cut them out.  I cut some white paper to 3.75 X 5.  In the middle I embsossed the sentiment with that same copper.  I mounted that on a bit of rust/cajun colored cardstock.  That went on a sheet purple.  Then I placed my oval frame to make a wreath.  On top of the wreath I placed my lovely leaves with glue and foam.  I added a few purplish pink sequins and a few leaf sequins as my finishing touch.

I have to tell you, this is my new fave fall color combo with the purple and a touch of pink mixed in.  Don't be surprised if you find it on quite a few of my cards.  :)

Just for fun today, I am entering this into:

The Card Concept- using the Classy and Elegant Style.

Bright Side

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing a super cute and fun fall card using Trinity Stamps Bright Side stamp and Coordinating Die set.

This guy is so much fun.  I mean those eyes! lol.  There are a lot of gnome stamps out there, but I particularly love the Trinity ones.  To make this, I started by pulling out some DP, I put white on top and then a layer of striped yellow.  I think this is a great color combo and perfect for fall.  Then I die cut it using this Deckle Edge Die.  I mounted all that on a white base.  Then I stamped out my image on Copic friendly paper and colored it.

Once I die cut it, I placed it on the base with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment and mounted my butterfly and added in my own flight patterns.  Lastly I added in these Blue Lagoon Crystal Confetti with glue dots.

Thanks for visiting, hope you like it!

Since blue is my favorite color, I am entering into Dare 2 Be Artzy Challenge

Ready for some fun?!

Hey friends.   Anyone else excited for the weekend?  Yes, I know it is only Tuesday, but I am! lololol.    OK, we have a few days to wait yet, but we can have some fun before then right?

Today, I am playing with some Whimsy products.

This card features the new and fun die, Elvira Moonlighting.  I used her in another recent post and tutorial here. In both, I added white to her hair by using white pencil on the  black die cut hair. For this one, I used her entire person (not just her head).  I mounted her in front of the Haunted Parlor backdrop and I used the Wonky Window Die cut in kraft paper and distressed with ink to make it look like a window.  I mounted it all on a dark, rich purple paper.  The sentiment is from Flamingo Fun and I stamped and embossed it with Wow's Metalline Flame.

I love this background stamp and this die.  In this one, Elvira has her eyes closed and some smokey eyeshadow, lol.  She is pretty fabulous doncha think?

Grand Mesa

Hey, happy Fri-YAY!  I don't know about you, but I am sooo ready for the weekend.  But first, let me share a gorgeous scenic card with you.

This card is fairly simple to make, it only has one stamp from the new Create a Scene- Mountains stamp set from Whimsy.  It is a lovely and versatile set and it had me when I saw the desert mountain.  I went to college in Colorado so it takes me right back there. One of my first kayak trips was along the Colorado river. So beautiful there.

I made this one by stamping the image on white and coloring with my Copics.  Then I cut it out.  Next, I stamped one along the background and used distress inks to create a more Mesas in the background and some whispy clouds.  I mounted my front layer using foam tape.  Then I cut it to 4X4 and cut a kraft base to 4.25 X 4.25.  A small card, but big impact!

Just a quick post today, but I hope you like it!  Thanks for visiting!

Foolish Mortals

Hey there!  Happy Sunday.  It is super hard to believe Halloween is just around the corner, that is usually busy season for me.  Throw in some birthdays with the onslaught of holidays and there is no breathing room.  Not sure what Halloween will look like this year in the USA, since we have done a poor job managing Covid-19.  We shall see....

Meanwhile, how about we just get our spook on?  Today's card features items from the new Whimsy Stamps release.

It is straight from a classic horror flick.  Which reminds me, I miss going to the movies!  Anyhoo...

Here is how I made this one:

I started by die cutting the Slimline Film Strip Die in black.  Then I die cut some of the new Vampire Paper to fit in the squares on each end.  The great thing about the DP is that the scene is already set for you, easy peasy!  I placed these on a dark grey base.  Then I stamped out some images from the new set Screams in Vein and colored them with my Copics.  I used a pale green for my vampire because that was just too fun (R37, R35, R14, RV42. E00, E02. E33, E35, E37, C7, C7, Y13, Y15, BV17, BV08, YG11, YR13, BG45).  I used foam to place my images.  Then in the center square I stamped "your screams are in vien" and added the die cut Foolish Mortals in sparkly red paper. Lastly, I added a few bats to the center square.  Viola!

The last square is honestly my fave.  Although I say film strip, it feels straight out of a comic book.  I love Deb's artwork here.  You might notice that I made his eyes a little bloodshot too. lol

Well I hope you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed making it. Check out the Whimsy Stamps shop for the new release!

Trinity September Release- Day 2

If you haven't hit up the Trinity Stamps shop yet today you should, because of right now, the September Release is LIVE! Yep, there are soooooo many new goodies, you aren't going to believe it.

Today I wanted to share another card that I have over on Instagram for the Day 2 release hop.

Meet Blessing Bear.  This is such a sweet stamp set and the Coordinating Die set is perfect.  It makes for a sweet scene for pretty much any season. To make it fall I went with this color combo and added some blueberries (which appear in late summer).

Here is how I made this one. I stamped my bear on a scrap of DP and again on white.  I colored the white version and cut it out so I could paper piece the belly, nose, etc. onto the patterned paper.  I popped the muzzle out with foam tape and added glaze to the eyes and nose.  For the background, I stamped the new Slimline Leafy Background Stamp using my a mixture of Peeled Paint and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink and I used my Misti to stamp it on white. Next, I die cut the new Mini Slimline Panels in blue, popped it up and mounted it on the background.  I mounted the bear in the front.  Then I used the Slimline Foliage Frame die to create leaves and berries along the bottom.  Lastly, I used the 4 Bar die and a sentiment from Autumn Sentiments set.

I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  He is sweet and this will make a wonderful Friendsgiving card.

Come join us for the hop and hopefully win something.
