MIssing You

Hi and happy Wednesday!  It has been pretty good week back at work, maybe vacation was what I needed, it had been a good long while since I had one.  But that isn't why we are here today.  Today I want to share a card I made for my daughter who is staying with her grandma for a week.  I thought it would be fun to send her something in the mail like a pen pal might.  :)

Here is what I made:

I knew I wanted to use this new My Favorite Things set (it is the same one I used on this post with the bunnies), in fact I bought this set with my kiddo in mind.  I found further inspiration from this week's ColorQ inspiration.  I found the perfect paper in my BasicGrey Persimmon collection and used it to paper piece the dress and hat.  The other DP with the raindrops is from SU! along with the base colors. I used my Copics to color the remainder of details.  The enamel flower was the perfect accent.

Do you think she'll like it?  I hope so!

Thanks for stopping!

A day to remember- SSC106

Hello!  Happiest of Sunday's to you!

It is Sunday Stamps time and we have a super fun sketch for you this week.

I know a couple of ladies who are expecting babies VERY soon, so I thought it appropriate to make a baby card using this fun sketch.

For some reason I struggled with this card, but I am happy with the outcome, so it all works out.  It features a whole slew of products lines.  First and foremost is the bunny stamps from My Favorite Things (Birdie Brown  Collection, Adventure is Calling)- so cute!  I colored each using my Copics.  I mounted on some Studio Calico velum and then again on some Echo Park DP.  My accents include faux stitching across the top, star die cut from Lawn Fawn Dies, Freckled Fawn washi for the sentiment and sequins from Walter and Winnie (a gift with a recent order).  All are on the Crumb Cake SU! paper.

Be sure to head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog and check out the amazing DT projects, leave a comment and get inspired to play!

I just returned from vacation in British Columbia, it was super fun.  This stamp set is a new purchase from Doodlebugs, a store in Sequim we hit n the way home.  Thanks for the recommendation Lesley Croghan!  Here are a few highlights from our trip....

I believe I am the only one in my family who enjoyed this.....

The theme was heros and villains, there were so many amazing sculptures.

They did amazing things with these animals.  There were some resident animals who couldn't be released and others there were close to release.  It included mostly birds, but some bears and other small mammals too.  There was an amazing story about a Bald Eagle who had many prosthetic beaks for years until he passed.

A fun retro hotel.  It lacked a few amenities like AC (would have been nice) but more than made up for it in it's retro style and fun atmosphere.  Included ping pong, a wii for kids, and a slide to the pool.  It was close to downtown and walkable, but they also had an old VW van made into a shuttle bus.  The price was good.

Water Taxi from Fisherman's Wharf

Despite the sunny start, the seas where rough and windy.  We didn't see whales but did see this sweet baby seal and a few others.  I like the one playing peak-a-boo!  We had a fun adventurous boat ride.  Because there was no whale sighting, we got a full refund, which allowed us to do other fun things.

There were other fun activities too.  I think it wore me out and I need a vacation from my vacation! ;)

Thanks for stopping!

Here for you....

Just a quick post.  I have been missing the Colour Me card challenge DT, so thought I'd play this week and link up.  Here is the inspiration:
Such fun colors and the pic is amazing!  Love the thought of being somewhere tropical and watching the flamingos!

My card is not quite as lighthearted as the photo, but I hope that it lifts someone special up.  I am sending this to my Uncle, who is having surgery in a few days to hopefully remove cancer.  Please send him good vibes!  He is such a stoic man and doesn't complain or ask for help, so I am asking for him.  For my Aunt too, who supports him through his trials.

This card is made with a Terrarium stamp from the PaperSource.  I colored it with my Copics and mounted it on some old SU! DP.  The sentiment from Impression Obsession is so touching, I couldn't resist when I saw it at my local scrapbook store, so snatched it right up.  I am so glad I did, this is the perfect occasion to use it.  I used a Paper Smooches die for the fram and tied some ribbon around the inside DP from Amuse.  Finally I added the bright and sparkly sequins from Neat and Tangled for a little extra kick.  The bright shiny touch makes me think that hope is on the horizon.

That's all, thank you for stopping today and sending my family good vibes.  Don't forget to head over to Colour Me to check out what is going on there!

Confetti or Funfetti?

Hello!  Happy Friday friends!  What do you think is more appropriate for a Friday birthday, confetti or funfetti?!  Not to worry, they are the same and there is no wrong answer, I just think one is more FUN... I bet you can't guess which one it is.  WINK!

I have a co-worker who has a birthday today.  She loves elephants, so I made her this card and I hope she likes it!  The inspiration for this (besides the elephant) was last week's Mojo Monday sketch- check it out.

Such a fun design and I was happy to play with it!  I love the angles!  Of course I enjoyed every moment of coloring this Inky Antics Elephant with my Copics and topped it off (literally!) with this hat from Lawn Fawn!  The papers and the embossing folder are all from SU!, the gold enamel dots are BasicGrey and the sentiment is from Impress and stamped in Delecata Gold.  The dies used for  Lawn Fawn circles and Spellbinder scallop circles.

I really am loving this color combo of Gold, Navy, Cantaloupe and Bermuda Bay!  It is
Funfetti-riffic!

Super fun, and happy birthday to you M!  May your day be filled with confetti or funfetti, whichever you prefer! :)

Sunday Stamps 105

Hidey-ho!  Welcome to another addition of Sunday Stamps!  This week we have some elegant inspiration for you:

Isn't this just a spectacular photo?!  The cake looks oh so yummy and elegant too!

It just so happens that I went to a co-workers wedding yesterday and I thought, too easy, I'll use the inspiration just as it is and make a card just like it.  Well, that didn't work out, but I was able to come up with another card that was just right for the occassion.  BTW- the wedding was beautiful as was the bride.  The best part was that they took two pieces of individual rope, symbols of their individual lives, and tied them into one Celtic knot, symboling their forward movement together as one unit.  Pretty cool.

So here is the card I made for the beautiful bride and groom.  It features SU! paper and embossing folders.  The stamps are from Altnew, stamped in versamark and embossed black.  I fussy cut the flowers out and added a little bit of sparkly stickles for fun.  I wrapped a ribbon around it and used a butterfly pin from LYB to hold it on as if it were a real wedding boquet.  I had fun changing the design to make it angular and modern.  I added some silver twine and Simon Say Stamp pearls.

I hope you will head over to teh Sunday Stamps blog now.  The ladies have done an amazing job with this week's inspiration.

Thanks for stopping!

Making LIfe Fun Every Day

A week ago on my birthday, I got together with a group of fun and fabulous stampers from the PNW. Ms. Amy Tsuruta gave me this stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop for my birthday and my daughter said, "that's me!"  Yep, sure enough, that stamp set looks so much like her and they are both super cute!  So, I was determined to make a card with that stamp set just for her.

That is what I did a few days ago, made this sweet card just for her.  This card features that sweet girl from Sweet Shop and the swing set is from Lawn Fawn's You Make Life Fun set (my hubby gave me this one for my birthday).  I stamped these onto a Simple Stories journal card and used another one to stamp and paper piece the little dress and bow on her hair.  I mounted that on some paper from the Fancy Pants True Friend collection and then finally mounted it on black cs from Stampin' Up!  The final touch was adding the purple to the glasses because my girl wears purple glasses.

Now, this wasn't planned, but check this pic out from yesterday, we were on a ferry ride.  She looks so much like that little stamp doesn't she?!  She picked out her own clothes and her headband, super cute!  She really does make life fun, every day!

That's all, just wanted to share how lucky I am to have such an amazing girl in my life. :)   Thanks for stopping!

Oh- PS- here is the list of all the ladies I shared crafty time with last week:

and other friends who I didn't get to see that day, but whom celebrated in the blog hop. :)
Vicki (honorary PNW stamper!)

I'll come back to share more creations made with stamps given to me by Kimberly and cards from many of these fab ladies! HUGS gals and thanks again!
