January Musings

A quick post today sharing a card I made for the Fusion Challenge back in January.  That's right, I said January....

This card has a lot of lovely things going on.  First is the Doodlebug Designs Inc. paper in the background, purple gingham 💜💜.  In front of that layer is white paper die cut in a Gina Marie Designs and Stenciled with an Echo Park stencil using my Trinity Blendability Brushes and Distress Oxides- Broken China, Milled Lavender, and Cracked Pistachio.  The layer in front of that is sentiment from Crafter's Companion, die cut with and MFT dies.  Lastly, I added some extra butterflies (also Crafter's Companion) distressed and Trinity Stamps Glistening Snow Embellishment Mix.

Wow Embossing Powder and Trinity Stamps Collaboration Hop

Hello crafty Friends!

Boy do we have some fun in store for you today as we share this fun collaboration hop between Wow Embossing Powder and trinity Stamps!  There are a lot of amazing designers participating in this hop and a TON of eye catching creations and....ahem... prizes.  Keep reading for more information.

Now you should have come here from Raluca's blog, but not to worry if you are lost, I have the full listing at the bottom.

Let's get moving shall we?! Here is my card for today:

So, to make this card I started by using a dryer sheet to make sure my paper had no static.  I used to have an embossing buddy tool that removed the static but it is lost in the mess that I call my craft room, so I went with this easy hack, which works just as well.  Then I stamped my Trinity Succulent Banner stamp on this white (Copic friendly) paper using clear Versamark ink.  I liberally sprinkled on the Wow Metallic Gold Embossing Powder and used my heat gun to set it.  I came back in and stamped the sentiment and repeated the process.  Once my image was set, I came in with my Copics and added color (Y13, Y15, BG02, BG32 G07).

My base image was set and I decided to die cut the white paper using this tattered edge die (Honey Bee) and did a series of them using different DP papers and mounting the layers on top of one another with another layer of white at the bottom.  Then I added some of the Trinity Walkin' on Sunshine Embellishment Mix.

I don't know if you agree, but I feel the colors and sparkle of both the embossing powders and sequins are lovely for an encouragement card.

Now, if you hop through and comment by Sunday 3rd March 2019, you will be eligible to win a prize of... 6 x powders (at the winners choosing) + carry case from WOW! Embossing Powder & Trinity Stamps have an amazing pack of goodies with Stamps, Die and Embellishments.

The announcement will be made Wednesday, 6th March 2019, Greenwich Time on both Trinity Stamps & WOW! Embossing blog.

Here is the blog hop line-up:

Thank you for your visit and I hope you enjoyed this post as well as the hop!

Smile

Happy Wednesday!

It is a sloppy mess here in the PNW as we have rain on top of snow.  Puddles of slush.  I personally would have preferred the snow and a slow thaw myself, but alas.  So, I just put myself in more cheery mood with this sweet card.

This card features Your Next Stamp Phoebie and Pets.  They are so cute and very fun.  I stamped and colored them using my Copics.  I watned to have the birdie tempting the turtle with the carrot, so I borrowed a fishing pole from a Lawn Fawn stamp set to make the combo.  Once I had the friends ready, I created the background by using distress inks and a Tim Holtz star stencil in a light pink.  I stamped the sentiment in bright blue (also a distress ink) to match Phoebie's dress.  Lastly, I wanted to create a stage of sorts for them to stand on, so I utilized this Crafter's Companion die to create various colored layers of scallops for that platform.

Here is a close up shot.

Long live the 1980's

Do you remember the 1984 movie called Splash?  It was a soppy rom-com with Daryl Hannah and Tom Hanks.  I was 5 when it came out and probably watched it a few years after.  I loved mermaids then and it was likely my dream to be Daryl Hannah in that movie with her long blond crimped hair and and orange tail. I mean who DIDN'T want to be a beautiful mermaid?!

Alas, I may not have become a mermaid, but at least I can stamp and color them... and that movie is what inspired today's card.  Not sure when or how, but at some point, I got it in my head that these cute Lawn Fawn mermaids needed to be paired with this cute bathtub to make the scene.

To make this card I started with the background.  I used a Heffy Doodle Bubble Waves Stencil with some distress inks.  My background is a little blotchy (boo), but that will never happen again now that I have my Trinity Blendability Brushes!!!  Moving past that imperfection, I stamped my images from Lawn Fawn colored them with my Copics.  I like it when bubbles have that iridescent colored quality that they get when light strikes them, so I added a blue and peach.  I cut them out and then maneuvered them to make a set.  I had to cut the tail off and mount it seperately so it could hang over the end of the tub perfectly.  I stamped the sentiment, which is from a Craftin' Desert Diva's set.  I then mounted my bubbles and added some splashes around the scene.  I came back in with my white gel pen for some highlights.  Here is a close up.

Despite a few imperfections, I think she is pretty darn cute.  Her spirit reminds me of a friend of mine, who is fun-loving, jolly and endures- which is why I gave it to her for her birthday. :)

While I can't say I am thrilled that certain 80's things are popular again... I can agree that they did, at least, have a few redeeming qualities... so thank you Daryl Hannah and Tom Hanks.  :)

Thanks for stopping and happy crafting!

Trinity February Release

Happy Monday Friends!

I hope you enjoyed your weekend.  We are catching up with the rest of the US as we got a bit of snow over the weekend.  It wasn't enough to make us part of the Polar Vortex, but just enough to have a little fun.

Meanwhile, as we welcome February, Trinity Stamps has a new release.  The release includes two mini stamps sets and some wonderful new embellishments. First is Snowflake Kisses, you should have seen this previously as it was a freebie giveaway around black Friday.  It is so cute and versatile.  Here is a shot of my previous card and you can see the full reveal here

The other set is Mr. Snailman.  I can tell you how cute it is, but you will see for yourself....

Isn't he adorable!  I love all the ways you can color him and he is perfect for card makers since we send snail mail. :)  He comes with a package on his back, but I removed it for this card, I just wanted to have him carry the letters.  I stamped him and colored him with my Copics.  I wanted it to appear like a rainbow on his shell.  I die cut the white using my Gina Marie Scalloped Rectangle die.  I mounted it over this Doodlebug paper because it has sweet ladybugs on it.  I added some pink twine, wrapping it around twice and tying it and mounting on white card stock.  Here is a close up.

Last but not least, here is a sneak peak of the some of the many new embellishments in the shop, including the Unicorn Party Pinata Loot Bag!  SOOO fun!!!

Be sure to head to the Trinity blog, there are tons more projects and inspiration for you to feast your eyes on!

Thanks for your visit!

Bouncing Baby Boy

Hello Crafty Friends!

I know I have been a bit absent this last few weeks.  My computer crapped out and I had to purchase a new one.  Transferring and saving all my stuff was a little harder then I hoped, but... I finally did it! YAY!

Today I am back sharing a sweet card using Trinity Stamps. This card is perfect for a baby shower.

Isn't it so cute!  I love those sweet bears from the Trinity Stamps Seasonal Sweetheart set. They may be my most favorite part of the set... besides the girl, because she is cute and the die cuts her arms out so they move!  Sorry, I get distracted.  So, I stamped the bears with my Versamark and then embossed them with Wow Gold Embossing Powder.  Then I came back in and colored them with my Copics.  Then I die cut them using my MFT Rounded Rectangle Die and set them aside.

Next I cut my base using Kraft paper, cut, scored and folded.  After I die cut this Lawn Fawn DP using my Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Rectangle Die (this is definitely one of my go to dies).  I added this gold and white twine and then mounted my bears on top.  The last step was stamping and embossing the sentiment which came from the Trinity Stamps Decorate-a Cake Set.

Aren't they just darling and perfect for a new baby and his/her parents?!  I think so.
