Happy Day 2 of the Whimsy Stamps Paper Door Kit release! Have you checked it out Sugar Rush yet? Do you love it?
As you will tell from my card today, I do! Check this out:
OK, so here's the deal. This paper, first time I saw it, made me thing of an awning, so... that is just what I did, made it into one! I basically just hand cut along the curves, I used a bone folder to create the crease and then I glued the edges down and popped up the middle with foam tape- easy peasy!
What else did I do here? I stamped and colored these cute lollipops with my Copics and added gel pen.. Check this out:
Copics: C1, RV02, RV04, RV12, RV42, RV25, RV19
And don't you just love those word dies with the the shadow layers? For those words, I used black and pink paper. I stamped the sentiment on white and popped it out. I used that same paper for the layers of background. On the white layer I spattered bits of pink and black ink.

Ready for a Sugar Rush?
Hello! Today is my first official post for the Whimsy Stamps Paper Door Team! Paper door is the Whimsy Stamps Monthly kit and if you haven't checked out their kits, you are going to want to. But the proof is in the pudding, so let me show you what I have made for today with January's kit called Sugar Rush.
I am so happy with how this turned out. I think the blue is a nice touch because it makes this card that can work for a guy despite the glitter.
My advice... snag your kit while you can, because once they are gone, they are gone and they sell out fast! I'll be back tomorrow with more inspiration using this kit, but in the meantime... get shopping!
UM, right?! Isn't is scrumptious and fun and funny?! I love the images and paper and sentiments... ok, just everything!
I think there is so much possibility with this kit and I hope you do too. These kits are so reasonably priced at $29.95 and include TONS of stuff. You can scroll down for the pic, but I will tell you it has two stamps sets, a large background stamp, a paper pack with 24 double sided sheets of paper, AND the word die with accompanying shadow dies. Wowzers!
OK, my card today is 4.25 X 4.25 and if you buy the kit you get complete instructions on how to make it!!! But I will give you a few tips right here.
I started with the Sugar Rush stamp, stamped it on Copic friendly paper cut to 3.75 X 3.75 and colored it with Copics. Using a glue pen and glitter, I added sprinkles to specific portions of the images that I wanted to look sugary. Next, I cut some of the exclusive DP slightly larger, 4 X 4, than the layer with my image. I mounted the image on top. Then I cut a base in turquoise paper at 4.25 X 4.25 and mounted those layers on the base. I stamped my sentiment on a strip of the blue cardstock and then added glitter to that to emphasize the "there's no sugar coating." I thought that was a pretty funny touch! 😉 I mounted that on the card and WAHLAH! Sooooo sweet!

Raptor present for ya'!
You know, I do love repurposing stamp sets. This Dino-mite Christmas stamp set from Ellen Hutson for example... meant to be a Christmas set, but it works just as well for Valentine's Day too! See what I mean???

Stinkin' Cute! That bow on her head. It was a pretty simple make too....stamp images on Copic paper, color, cut out, highlight with white gel pen. Next use distress ink and stencil to create the background. Stamp the sentiment in the upper right. Mount your images on the base. TADA!!!!

Yeti Party
Very quick post today. Made this a while back. Could have used for new years but didnt.
This set is from Mama Elephants 5th bday (I think). I didn't go as it is on opposite side of the country from me. I really, really wanted the set b/c I am a Yeti freak. So much that years later my hubby found on eBay and got for me. ❤❤❤
I stamped and colored with zigs on watercolor paper. The background is ink blending with a ME die over the top.
Sent this to a friend recently for her bday.
