Ornate Lace

Happy Sunday!  I have another sneak peak for the Crafter's Companion and HSN May reveal coming on 5/9.  You are gonna love this new 3D embossing folder called ornate lace, check it out.

I did the quilting technique where I glued several DPs down on CS and then ran them through the embossing folder.  What you see in the middle is the middle of the embossing folder.  Then I ran some white paper through with the folder and cut the lace edges out.  I adhered them to the top of the DP.  Next I put it all on some Cantaloupe colored cardstock. I finished it off with these lovely leaves and a matching bloom.  I love the outcome and the soft spring colors.

Thanks for visiting and don't forget to CC & HSN on May 9th for the big reveal of all the amazing new products.

Sketch Saturday- Chose your own Adventure!

Today is extra fun over at Sketch Saturday because you can choose your own adventure!  Specifically, you can choose any sketch from 215 - 460.  I chose #414 (rotated).

Lemon Shortbread is this week's sponsor.

Here is my card for this week.  I used Jane's Doodles Stamps and colored them with Copics.  The background of this uses an MFT embossing folder.   I love her sweet little kite with the Rainbow DP from Lawn Fawn.

Check out the blog and see what other fun stuff is going on there.

Hey Beautiful

Happy Friday!  I happen to have today off and I am soooooo very glad!  I am up in my craft room making some fun new projects.  You'll have to wait a bit to see them.  Meanwhile, I have something else to share today.

Check out this beauty! A perfect card for a loving mother don't you think?

I used my Crafter's Companion Aqua paper and archival ink to stamp this CC Spectrum Aqua Bloom set.  I came back in and added some watercolors.  Next I die cut this CC Sara Davies Rustic Cottage Butterfly die.  I mounted the whole thing in black paper because it really pops!

Don't forget about the May HSN Countdown, some cool products coming your way soon!

Sunday Funday!

Happy Easter to all that celebrate!  I hope you are having a marvelous weekend.

I have always been intimidated by interactive cards because the are complicated.  I am getting more comfortable with them.  One big reason is that Crafter's Companion is coming out with some super fun dies for interactive cards.  For example, below you'll find the Create-a-Card Shutter Die.

Isn't it the cutest thing ever?!  The paper, those bears and all the fun interaction!  The best part is that it was sooo easy!

To start I used the CC die and cardstock, I lined them up using the outside dies and the magnetic plate.  Then I taped the frame down and cut the and the score lines were all set.

Then I used the other dies on the DP.  This DP is older from October afternoon.

Once cut I adhered all the bits to my paper.

Then I went about coloring my bears from MFT.  I used the Spectrum Noir Markers GB8, GB10, PP5.

After coloring and cutting out my bears.   I added a sentiment die (Waffle Flower) and some balloon dies (Lil Inker) and the number 9 (ProvoCraft).

Here is the finished product again, just how I wanted it.

The BIG NEWS is that you are going to want to join the HSN on May 9th to see these fun Pop-out card dies debut!  There are several different ones and they are so fun, so don't forget to join in!

Thanks for the visit!

Sketch Saturday- Magical

Howdy friends!  Are you excited Saturday is here?  I sure am!!!  There is always fun to be had when Sketch Saturday is here.

This week our sponsor is Star Stampz.   Here is what I have made for this week's challenge.

This sweet card is made using MFT stamps and Copics.  I love the soft colors with the black.  Instead of using the banner at te bottom as in the sketch I decided to add ribbon.  The journal card is from Lawn Fawn.

I hope you'll head on over to Sketch Saturday to check out the DT's magic and play along.

Good News!

Hello!  Not sure if I have shared the good news here but I have joined the Crafter's Companion Design Team!  Super excited to be part of this amazing team and able to use these amazing products!

So today I am here to "christen the ship" if you take my meaning.  This will be my first official CC post. Woohoo!  Now here is my first project:

You might be wondering drew me to CC?  Well among other things, I can tell you I LOVE the Sheena stamps they carry!  This card features one of the first Sheena stamps I ever purchased called Butterfly Effect.  It is soooo cool. I coupled this with the following (all CC unless otherwise noted):

Kraft Cardstock
Sara Davies Rustic Cottage DP
Sara Davies Rustic Cottage Die & Stamp set (tag & sentiment)
Gemini Die Pack 3 (detailed edge)
Spectrum Noir markers CG1, CG2, DG4, PP1, PP3, PP5
twine (LYB)

I am pretty happy with how this turned out.  Seems like a great card for a friend fighting cancer, the reminder to be hopeful.  I hope you like it too.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

THD Challenge #11

Hey there!  We are having some fun over at The Heart Desires blog getting ready for all things spring.

Really, what do you say to those fab colors and images?!  Well let me tell you what the DT has been saying... or let me show you because they made some AMAZING cards!   But first, here is my creation.

This card is so bright and cheery!  Who doesn't love this paper?!  I dare you to find them!  This is from Doodlebug's spring collection.  The stamp set is Neat & Tangled's Cotton Tail Cuties.   I colored with my Copics and used this oval die from MFT.

OK, enough stalling, go check out the DT and then come play!
