Flamingo Fun

Today Whimsy Stamps is having a slimline hop over on Instagram, I hope you will come visit and comment for your chance to win a prize.  Meanwhile, I wanted to share the card here as well... because it is just too cute!

See, I wasn't joking!  I love this set, it is just so cute!

Here is how I made this card:

I started by stamping the images from Flamingo Fun on Copic friendly paper.  I colored each image, added highlights with a white gel pen, and fussy cut them out.  I used the following Copics (C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, B000, B02, B05, B93, B97, BG01 Y06, Y15, Y35, YR04, YR09, YR15, YR24, E33, FYG2, YG11, YG13, RV14, RV42. R14, R32, R35, R37).  I set them aside and worked on the background.  First I created a barrier so the distress inks wouldn't go outside the area I wanted them to.  THen I divided the area in half and created a yellow sky with Lemonade and a blending brush, then I use a a wavy line stencil with Broken China and Tumbled Glass on the bottom.  I die cut the Slimline Marquee Die in a turquoise paper and mounted it on the white base.  I came back in and added some embellishments and used foam to mount the images.  It is so bright and fun!  Lastly I used a bit of orange cardstock to stamp the sentiment.

The embellishments with the beach ball and sand-dollar are a fun touch.  It really is a happy scene that makes me smile.

Now head on over to Instagram @ 9am PT to join us for the hop. Thank you so much for visiting!

Make a Wish

Happy Thursday!  Today I am heading on a little quick trip and so excited to have a few days away! Before I go, I wanted to share a fun card.

Isn't it super cute!  I love this new Sea Monkey set from Avery Elle that I purchased from Doodlebugs WA.  I also used the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Die, Swim Team, and Party Pals.

For the backdrop I used distress inks Peacock and Pistachio. I love the use of bright colors with the Copics and the highlights from the gel pen.

Seriously, it makes you think that monkeys should snorkel among the fish.  The images are so cute!

I spritzed some water on the backdrop.  I stamped the sand on some craft and used Brushed Corduroy along the edges. You probably noticed I fussy cut everything out (yes I am crazy).

So there you have it.  Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a great day!

Goosebumps!

Happy Sunday!  Thought I wish it was Saturday still.  Too bad, so sad.  ;)

Today I have another fun card to share using new Whimsy Stamps products.

So are you ready for Halloween?  I am not, but it is fun to make some Halloween themed cards.  I am not sure Halloween will even happen this year, at least not kids trick or treating.  I can't imagine that being safe this year with all that is going on. I am sure we will find new ways to celebrate and adapt, just like we have been doing.

Here is another look at this card.

Here is how I made this:

I started by stamping the image from Sugar Skull Cuties and coloring her with my Copics.  Then I used the coordinating Sugar Skull Cuties die set to cut it out.  Next, I used some sparkly purple cardstock and the Slimline Bunting Borders (the stars). I used the same purple paper to die cut the sentiment from the Chills Word Die set. I mounted it on white so it would pop.  I used the based and added a strip of black, followed by a strip of paper from the Sugar Skulls Paper Pack.  Then I mounted that sentiment on top.  I used foam to mount the girl.  Then I added the banner to the top and added some black sequins.  I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  Usually I like to build a scene, but occasionally I mix it up.

I really like this stamp set, it is so cute!  I had a ton of fun making cards with this set.  I am sure there will be more to come. lol

I hope you like it and thanks for visiting!

Sugar Skull Cuties

Hey friends!  Today is another fun fabulous release from Whimsy Stamps

Today's card features the the brand new Sugar Skull Cuties Stamp set and coordinating die set.  This is a darling set that is just so sweet and lends itself to fun, bright colors.  For my card, I set the scene in a graveyard at dusky, just like you might imagine for Dia De Los Muertos.

Here is how I made it:

I started by stamping and coloring my images with Copics and cut them out with the dies.  I loved picking vivid colors.  I used a tag die shaped like a tombstone and cut it in dark grey.  I wrote RIP on it and set it aside with the images.  Next, I used distress inks to color the background (Peacock, Wilted Violet, and Pickled Raspberry) and then used the Quilted Rainbow Inlaid Die to make the pattern on the background.  Next, I used more distress and the Grass and Cloud Edger Die for my grassy knoll.  I set the scene and mounted it all on black cardstock.

I hope you like it and thank you for visiting!

Congrats on your new home

Happy Tuesday!  Today I have a super cute card to share with you that is for my cousin who recently moved to a new home.

This set from MFT is so cute and I have been chomping at the bit to use it.  I am so busy at work it took me a while. I started a new job a few months ago and have been onboarding virtually during Covid times has been challenging.  But I am thankful to have the option.

I purchased this stamp set from Doodlebugs WA, they are local and love supporting local.

I made this by stamping the images on white copic friendly paper and coloring them. Foor the door, I added some woodgrain with a colored pencil.  It took me quite a bit of time.  Then I fussy cut them out and added highlights with a gel pen.  Next, I die cut some grass in green paper and mounted it along the bottom of this cloud paper.  Then I die cut it using a CDD die that I still have in my collection.  I mounted my images using foam tape.  I took this cloud paper and die cut the scalloped edge shape.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment on some yellow and mounted it.  All of this was mounted on a white base. Inside I stamped "on your new home."

Hope you like it and hope my cousin does too.

Thanks for visiting!

Dare to Dream

Happy Friday!  I am so glad the week is over.  It was good, but grueling. BUT, you aren't here to hear all about that, you want to see the card I have to share today.  This card features new Whimsy Stamps

This lovely card features the new Fairy Dreams stamp set. The images are so sweet, but of them, this one is my very favorite.  I just loved the idea of a sweet fairy floating among the stars or dragonflies.

I made this by stamping the image on white and coloring with my Copics.  I imagine real fairies would blend in with the environment, so I used earth tones.  I cut her out and put her aside.  Then I die cut a panel using the exterior portion of the Quilted Rainbow die.   I used distress inks to create the background as if it was a sunset or sunrise with a circle stencil.  You can see a bit of the reflection of the yellow in the water. Next, I stamped the image on the panel so that the water rings would be there. I went back in and darkened around the water ripples.  Then I added Liquid Pixie Dust to the scene for shimmer. I also added stars to the scene with another stencil.  I mounted my fairy and sentiment.  Then I mounted that on a navy blue base.

Isn't she lovely?  She sure does make me believe in fairies. :)

I hope you like it and thanks for visiting today!

Monster Squad

Hey there!  Just wanted to pop in today to share a cute and fun card that was inspired by a super cheesy old movie.  My hubby made me watch the movie, he recalls watching it when he was growing up.  When I told him I had never seen it, he was appalled!  FYI, it isn't a very good movie, but good for nostalgia, LOL. The movie is called Monster Squad.

Monster Squad is really a bit more halloweeny, with Frankenstein, Dracula, the Mummy and the Creature from the Black Lagoon, but I just made it a little cuter. :)  Right, my version is cute!?!

My version features several critters from Trinity Stamps.  Specifically the sets I used here are Rare Friend Stamp & Die (Dragon), Hugs and Squishies Stamp & Die (Swamp Monster), Unbelievable Stamp and Die (Bigfoot) and Let the Good Times Roll Stamp & Die (Unicorn).  I stamped and colored them with Copics.  I used the sentiment on bright pink paper.  I used some Doodlebugs Halloween DP and a window die.  I used some sparkle pen on a few spots and some white highlights with a gel pen.

Here's a shot where you can see some of the sparkles on the dragon wings and belly and the swamp things belly.
Well that is all I have for you today.  I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for visiting!

Whimsy Release- Spooks and Spells

Are you ready for fall yet?  I am decidedly NOT!  Summer didn't start here until after July 4th and so it is too soon to think of fall and school and all those things.  BUT, I am OK with some cute fall themed cards, sooo..... I am here today sharing a card from the Whimsy Stamps new release from today.

Don't you just love this fun Halloween card?!  I have to say, I adore this new Slimline Stars die, it is pretty fabulous.  You'll note that i used the cut stars as confetti here.
Here is how I made this: I started by using the die with black cardstock.  Next, I took a piece of white and used Lemonade, Pumpkin, Wilted Violet and Twisted Citron Distress inks of the pane.  Then, I added some Ink on 3 Liquid Pixie Dust to give it some shimmer.  I set that aside to dry.   See below for a look at the shimmer that provides.
After that was complete, I stamped several images from the new Spooks & Spells Stamp Set on Copic friendly paper.  Then I colored the image using my markers (C1, W1, W3, W5, W7, W9, E13, E15, E44, E49, B000, BV08, BV13, BV17, V15, V17, G00, G14, BG18, YG91, YG95, YG97, YG06, YR02, YR04, YR07, Y13, Y15).  Once they were done I cut them out and used foam to mount them.  I added more sparkle to a few bits (bat wings and poison bottles).  I added some glossy accents to the bats eyes for a final touch.

Pretty spooktacular right!? ;)

Just Eat Cake

Happy Monday!  I have such a super fun card to share with you today from Whimsy Stamps.

Aren't they cute?!  I love these darling gnomes from the Gnome Birthday Clear Stamp Set.  The colors I chose were to match Birthday Celebration Paper Pack.  It was the right choice, because it is perfection.  I used the Slimline Marquee die with red paper.  I colored my gnomies with Copics (E's- 00, 02, 13, 15, 25, 51, 53, W- 1, 3, 5, C- 1, 3, 7, R- 14, 29, 35, 37, Y- 11, 13, 15, YG- 03, 06, 11, B- 12, 23, 24).  I stamped the sentiment on blue and popped it onto the card.  I used foam to mount the gnomes.  Then I added some sequins with glue dots.

Which gnome is your favorite?  Mine is.... oh crap, I can't pick, I love something about each of them.  I love the bright card.

I hope you like this card and thank you for visiting.  Be sure to head to Whimsy to check out the awesome new release!

Trinity New Release

Happy Sunday!  I hope you have been having a great weekend!  I have been enjoying the sunshine.

On Friday, Trinity had a new release with tons of fun goodies.  I have a couple creations to share that use several.

First up is this birthday party scene.  It was super fun to make and i love the cute girls having so much fun.  I warn you that I missed and matched a lot of products on this one, so get ready!

First, I created the living room scene with the Slimline Series Room Builder Die.  It has so many fun pieces and ways to make your scene.  I used brown for a wood flooring and white paneling with blue wallpaper, accent carpet and curtain. I used vellum for the window and check out my cool plant and wall hangings.  Inside the wall hanging frames I used a sentiment from Dir-Tea Bunny. Once I had my scene, I die cut some balloons for my bday party.  I stamped and die cut the banners from the Treetop Adventures stamp and die set and colored them with Copics. The nest image is also from this set.  Once that was done, I worked on my gals.  The young girls are from Classroom Cuties stamp and die set.  You'll noticed I paper pieced some of their clothes with Doodlebugs paper.  The Mom is from the Let's Ride Together stamp and die set.  I used the cake from Happee Birthdae set.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment from A Sentiment for (almost) Everything and die cut it using the banner from the Mini Slimline set.   Whew!

That was a lot of work, but so worth it don't you think!?

Next up is a super easy tag by comparison, but the bold colors and message give it big impact.  I love this fun new stamp called Hang in There stamps and die.  I stamped it on rainbow DP from Doodlebugs.  I paper piced the white parts on top.  I colored in the hangar.  I put it on this bright yellow tag and tied it onto a bag with some twine for a nice encouraging gift.  I am thinking this is perfect for a candle!

Well thanks for visiting today.  I hope you enjoy these fun creations and check out the new goodies at Trinity!
