Vitamin Sea

Hello! Happy Wednesday!

It has been while since I have made a card just because, but I had a few moments the other day and got to play with this Picket Fence stamp set... that has been in my stash for two years uninked!  Cringe!  Oh well, doesn't matter, new or not, I still love everything about it and am happy to have finally used it!

I myself am a beach lover, so this is right up my alley.

What do you think?  Well I have to tell you I am happy with it how it turned out.  The colors (blue is my fave) and the subject matter and....well... just all of it.

Here is how I made it:

  • First I took a piece of white cardstock, copic friendly, and cut it to 4 X 5.25.
  • Next, I used my Broken China Distress Oxide and Trinity Blendability Brush to create the base blue background.
  • Then I added this fun Splash Stencil from Taylored Expressions and added the darker blue using Salty Ocean.

  • Next, I stamped the sentiment from Picket Fence A Dose of Vitamin Sea with Versamark ink and then used white embossing powder and my heat gun to set it.
  • I flicked a little water on the surface to add the discolored spots and set it aside to dry.
  • Then, I stamped and colored the whale from the stamp set using Copics- B0000, B23, B34, then I fussy cut him out.
  • I stamped the bubbles on my now dry base in black and added Glossy Accents over the top.
  • I mounted my happy whale onto the panel.
  • Lastly, I mounted the entire panel on a white base.

Here is a close up of this happy guy!  If that doesn't make you want to smile I am not sure what will. ;)

What do I think, I think it's adorable! I like the punny sentiment and all of the pretty blues you've used!
