Kick your heels up....

...because it is time for another Hoedown!  Hello, hello friends!  Thanks for stopping by today!  So much fun in store because it is Wednesday and that means that Hambo Stamps has a new challenge over at their challenge blog the Hambo Hoedown!  Yee-haw!  Each week with their challenge they have a fun new digi that comes out!  If you win you get to woop and holler about it AND you get a free digi from their store.  So come on folks, come play along!

This weeks challenge is a fun sketch.  I myself don't often make cards that aren't standard size, but this sketch was a tall card and I had oh so much fun making it!  I used the adorable Kangaroo image.  Um, just look at that little baby kangaroo popping out of the pouch...ACK!  So cute!  If you are wondering,
yes, I did use a high pitched voice like I was talking to a baby even as I was typing that....  I love this little digi set because there are tons of fun sentiments in it for many occasions.  I myself never have enough birthday cards though, so I went with birthday and "Hoppy Birthday" for my sentiment.  I had fun with the coloring, using my colored pencils and found some fun glittery papers I hadn't used yet to set the stage.

It's Question of the day time!  When I was a kiddo we had inherited a goat from a neighbor (we won't get into that story now...I am just focusing on the pet...).  I was soooooooooo clever that I named it...wait for it....Goatie! Brilliant!  So the question is, did you have any pets as a child?  If so, what kind of pet and what oh-so-clever names did you come up with for them?

So there you have it folks, this is my card for this weeks Hambo Hoedown.  Won't you come play along?!?!  Just head over to the Hambo Hoedown blog to check it out!
7/18/13 Updated to add- Why didn't I enter this into the Seize the Birthday challenge?!  Dur!  I am now though!

That Kangaroo looks just perfect on your tall card for this week's challenge! We are enjoying having you so much!

I had mostly dogs as a child (not until 5th grade though!) and the occasional fish that never seemed to survive very long! My most unusual was a pet sheep which I named Charlie!

Love these colors and great take on the sketch! Hey, I too get that excited over the cute images that Hambo comes up with so I am completely with you - My first pet that was truly mine was a basset hound that I named Norm(an) after the character in Cheers - and just like the cheers Norm when people saw my little guy, they would yell "Norm!!" HaHa I loved that dog!
Hugs,
Lyn

Wow - great job with the fussy-cutting on the image. Very cute card Katie! Thanks once again for Guest Designing for Hambo this month! :)

My kids won a goldfish at a school carnival, which they named "Flushie" because... well... yes, they had to flush him days later.

Such a cute kangaroo card! I love all the bright colors!

Goatie...haha....No clever names here to share....pretty main stream ones, button, prince...etc.

I'm sooooo glad that we had lunch. It was good for me to get outside and have the walk although I later found out it was only a total of 1 mile...

OH MY! I looooooooove those papers with this kangaroo image! LOVE this card!!! FABULOUS coloring-- WOWOZA! You are knocking my socks off today! **Well... you always knock my socks off:)

As for pets growing up-- we lived on a farm. We had every farm animal you could think of! We would take them to the 4H fair too. The one I remember most is my cow Frosty-- he was over 2000 pounds and I always loved to "pet" his neck. He didn't like it and one day literally jumped on top of me and knocked me over. My mom/dad were SOOOOOOOOOO scared.
